An Art Afternoon I

It is one of the typical SoCal Spring afternoons in March—warm, breezy and a lot of sunshines.  After Building Symposium, we think it might be a good idea to stroll around the West Hollywood neighborhood. We found this cutie gallery, M +B,  a hiding gem among greeneries.  The sign on the door says: Please Use the Side-door.

It turns out that today is the last day for solo exhibition of Mishan Kahn’s  whimsical “Just Around the Bend”. And several workers are busy with setting up the new show.

The gallery room is all white—neat and clean, a perfect backdrop to showcase the unique artworks.

It’s a wonderland for a big party.

As you can see from the above video, Mishan Kahn’s artworks are about furniture and  sculpture design.  The art objects he creates  are unusual assemblage of various of materials, usually an interplay between the handmade and the technological.

Such a beautiful jewel-tone sofa framed in steel and wood, upholstered in cashmere. Don’t you just love this adorable color palette—light purple, dark red, bright red, pink, yellow and orange… so pleasing the eye and mind.
