House Tour–A Sophisticated Houston Home with a Perfect Mixing-and-Matching Style

This clean-lined classical 1920 restored house in Houston caught our eye when when we were searching some fresh home inspiration earlier this morning.

Gorgeous manicured landscaping makes the house stands out.

The white-on-white tone on the ceilings and walls make this house airy, fresh, light and open while the moldings, arch openings and wood floors keep its classical origin, bringing in an inviting and warm atmosphere. What strikes us most is its masterful mixing of contemporary furniturings with fine antiques.

For the picture above, we love how an antique tapestry juxtaposes with an arrangement of contemporary seating in light lilac, grey and cream colors and a Lucite coffee.  This masterful mixing-and-matching approach creates such a fresh and interesting decor that eases the eye and pleases the heart. The feeling to stay in this living room is chilled, grounded and happy. We specially love this long  sofa upholstered in Belgium linen—elegant but relaxed.  It sets the tone of the whole house interiors.

The decor in  Family Room(picture above) continues the vibe in Living room–clean-lined contemporary seating in white nicely contrasts with a charcoal distressed-finish china cabinet, a classical crystal chandelier over the dining table and all arch patio doors. We specially love the low back profile of that white L-shape sofa–it’s like a sculpture in the middle of the room and its white color and low-back profile will not distract the views outside.   And of course, all artworks here are just so cool!

We love the  sheepskin chairs in the seating above. They look very cozy and comfortable.

Another play of juxtaposition of the contemporary and the classic. The rattan stools in natural fiber here add a touch of organic feel.

Here is another curled sheepskin chair in front of the bed in Master Bedroom. This type of curled chair is on-trend right now–super comfortable to sit in with its soft plush textures and easy to clean with its short curled hair—this might be one of those design trends out of Covid-10 pandemic. People want something that not only  comforts them but is easy to clean too for their home.
