It’s Friday. We thought it might be a good idea to tour a home with some beautiful colors. This historic home in Charlotte, North Carolina is graceful, feminine, warm, and timeless with a modern flair. we love the artisan wallpapers, textiles, old-world charming furnishings and locally crafted fine furniture used through the house. Here are the highlights of our favorites.
Entry
We are pretty impressed to see how Kelly Wearstler’s modern geometric wallpaper and leopard stair runner nicely contrast with the traditional panelings, wall mirror and wall crystal scone here in the entry. With such interesting contrast, this entry radiates a fresh, youthful and timeless vibe.
Family Room
This family room is so bright, airy yet feels warm too thanks to the floral pattern and color here. We rarely see a floral sofa, don’t we? We love this floral fabric on the modern sleek sofa. It’s very eye-catching! The cream carpet and crisp white walls and ceilings provide a perfect backdrop to highlight the floral sofa and red tufted mid-century modern chairs. The solid-color and geometric decorative pillows are such a perfect fit for this floral sofa.
Living Room
The daybed and coral coffee table pull colors from the chinossorie wallpaper in the background. Geometric pattered fabric on this modern daybed create contrast with the more classical wallpaper and the table lamp.
The old-world library is often very dark and serious, but not for this one. This old-world bright library is fresh and cool thanks to the leopard fabric on the wall, and more modern furniture in the seating area. The navy blue velvet sofa with fringes grounds the whole room. The color and pattern on those decorative pillows on the sofa help create a cheerful and fun mood.
Kitchen
The kitchen is clean-lined yet inviting and warm thanks to the charcoal cabinetry in the center island and brass green leather upholstered bar chairs. Those bar chairs are so stunning!
Breakfast Room
The breakfast room here is relaxing and casual and the view of the outdoor lush greenery is just breathtaking. Again, we love how mid century modern table plays with more classical tufted blue dining chairs and a vintage rug.
Bar Station
The glass floating wall shelves add a modern flair to this bird wallpaper. The bridge brass faucet is a focal point here in this bar station.
Master Bath
The pink vanity chair, the mosaic pattern on the floor add layers of femininity to this all-white crisp master-bath. The curved stand-alone tub creates such a relaxing vibe. We know this is the place where we want to relax for our weekend.
