It’s almost the end of August. I feel I just cannot wait to see all of the new color palettes in fall. Here are 3 colors that I start to see them everywhere and they may dominate the this coming fall season.
Chili Pepper Red— a little bit red on accessories like purses, boots, socks, …etc pairing with warm neutrals is fresh, exciting yet classic and ladylike.

Cinnamon is a warm, medium shade of brown.
Cinnamon is darker than shades like tan and beige but lighter than chocolate or true brown. Its warm undertones mean the hue can sometimes look red or orange-tinged. Cinnamon color looks fashionable, youthful and sophisticated when pared with checkered patterns and animal prints.

If you’re looking for subtler colors to try this season, then sumptuous cream and beige tones are your perfect choice. The expensive-looking neutral shades are gorgeous when layered in different fabrics.

And different shades and patterns of yellow and white on pillows give eye a rest and also create resort-like casual atmosphere.
Now you get some ideas to style your patio party with some dramas.

Large format porcelain tiles are really hitting the countertop market with their versatile designs now thanks to the advanced digital print technologies. Composed of clays and minerals fired at very higher temperatures, porcelain is a durable surface and is on the rise for use in kitchens and bathrooms.
Slabs of porcelain can come in sizes as large as 10’ x 5’, though they can be custom ordered to be much bigger or smaller. One of the most notable qualities of these slabs that you might discover in person is how thin they are. Measuring just 6-12mm in thickness, they automatically become some of the easiest and most lightweight materials to work with.
Here are some features of porcelain countertops:
Moh’s scale: 7—9
2. Engineered material
3. The hardest, most heat, scratch and stain resistant materials of all materials used for countertops.
4. Mild soap and warm water to clean
5. Polished and textured finishes
6. Kitchen and bath applications
7. Indoor and outdoor application
8. Commercial application.
Companies such as Neolith and Florim have come out with stunning surfaces, with patterns that look almost identical to marble. Metropolitan has been fabricating full height backsplashes and full height fireplaces with large format porcelain, creating unique and beautiful spaces.

I usually have a long run on Sundays. So I go easy on Mondays and schedule client meetings afterwards. Monday is a perfect time for me to organize interior pictures I took when I went to show houses and places with beautiful room decor. There are tons of them. I will have to file them as inspirations for different projects.
First of all, my inspiration always come from nature. We happened to have a little rain this morning. My backyard garden was so romantic in the rain and I shot this picture of a lemon:

We did this house several years ago and just made some fresh-up recently. The big change is the drapery. This green silky drapery with Chinoiserie cornice is actually talking to the current silk area rug and the main color scheme in the dining room and living room. I am never a big fan for a cookie-cutter brownish kitchen. By installing this long elegant drapery and some chinoiserie decor and a modern oversized chandelier over the breakfast dining table, we really make the space brighter, much bigger, airy and organized with a touch of elegance. Although it is still traditional, it is very chic and fresh.
