We often introduce new concepts and ideas to our clients. And they love to try these unique ideas. Patterned tiling for focal walls was kind of idea we introduced to the clients many years ago. Those beautifully designed wall tiles not only add interest, depth and dimension to the walls, they are extremely good at reflecting lighting and creating very special lighting effect. Tiles don’t absorb odors and are very easy to clean and disinfect. Some of them are even featured with anti-microbial function which may play an important role for home’s special requirement today at the crisis of Covid-19 pandemics. Continue reading

6 Trends in Bath Accessories
While today’s baths are designed to promote a soothing, wellness-inspired feeling, organization and technology remain strong influences, particularly in bath accessories. Clean, clutter-free spaces are in high demand, which makes clever storage essential, while technology shows up in everything from charging stations and smart mirrors to streaming music.
Below are some of the hottest trends in bath accessories right now.
- Organization continues to be a key trend, with growing demand for accessories that enhance storage for a wide variety of products. Click each image below for product details.

No linen closet? No problem. Keep your towels tidy with this elegant rack that hangs right on the wall. Crafted from sustainably sourced black American walnut and hand-finished with natural oils and wax, it lets you store your towels using wall space that might otherwise go empty. And if you are lucky enough to have a closet or cupboard in your bathroom, hey, now you have more room for face masks, serums, and other self-care goodies. You’re welcome. Handmade in Portland, Oregon.

Rain or shine, keep your bathroom stocked in distinctive style with this wall-mounted toilet paper “cloud.” Install the concrete cartoon outline to the wall (with included hardware) and complete the cloud formation with a variable stack of 8+ rolls of tissue. French designer Bertrand Jayr enjoys making objects “talk” through visual puns, and this design–part storage solution and part imaginative wall art–seems to speak of the softness obsession surrounding bathroom tissue by likening it to fluffy cumulonimbus billows. Made in China.

- Customized storage continues to be in high demand, with flexible drawers and compartments that can be configured for everything from make up and medicine to towels and grooming appliances. Click each image below for product details.
- Finishes are getting warmer, while mixed finishes are also trending in both bath faucets and accessories; matte black remains a popular choice, and white is also seeing interest, often paired with shades of warm gold, rose gold or brushed brass. Click each image below for product details.
LUANT Marble Stone Decorative Tray for Counter, Vanity, Dresser, nightstand, or Desk
- Charging stations have found their way into the bath, as consumers who take their phones everywhere want charging access throughout the home. Hide-away outlets are also becoming a highly desired bath addition with homeowners enjoying the convenience of having a hair dryer or flat iron that can be used, then tucked out of sight in a drawer with its own hidden outlet. Click each image below for product details.
- Music is the new hot bath accessory, with streaming music the latest must-have for those who want a spa-like space where they can relax and rejuvenate while enjoying their favorite play list. Likewise, smart mirrors add a bit of tech for those who want to enjoy catching up on the news while getting ready for the day.
- Clean and clutter free looks remain on trend, which means accessories from grab bars to towel racks and paper holders are often designed to blend seamlessly into the overall decor. However, some accessories are being used as a focal point, including striking, artistically designed mirrors, self-contained plant gardens that thrive in shower steam and art pieces that bring a personal touch to the space. There are are tons of new colors, new finishes, new technologies, new designs…In order to illustrate how cool all of these new things are, we will incorporate a lot of visual effects here. So, we would apologize here first if you feel there are just too much of them. Anyway, it’s time to grab a cup of coffee or glass of wine, sit back and just enjoy.
- Color, color, color. You may just see either white or beige for lavatory sink finish options in your local home improvement stores, but definitely not here in KBIS:
These lavatory sinks are made out of fireclay and stain-resistant. We love these warm tones which give design more options, specially for making a statement in the powder rooms.

Before and After—Minimulism vs. Maximalism
I am so happy to read an article in the WSJ that “After decades of stark, formulaic interiors, design is giving way to maximalism—a luxurious riot of color and pattern.” You can read this article right here
A powder room is where you wow your guests. This powder room features pink designer wallpaper, pale blue wainscot panelings, crown moldings, a Waterworks washstand, gilded Louis XVI gilded gold leaf mirror, a custom upholstered floral petite chair, modern marble floor and framed artworks. The mix-and-match approach of layers, patterns and objects make the space intrigue, elegant and sophisticated. The transformation from minimalism to maximalism truly deliver a big wow!

7 Techniques to Create an Upscale Master-bath
Every time when I work on the new project, I always try to do something different. Here is the master-bath project we just did recently. The client has been my inspiration. It is really great to have clients who can push me to become better. There are 7 interesting ideas I would love to share with you to create such an upscale and elegant master bath you can truly enjoy and relax!

- Always wrap the master bath with tiles or natural stones from the floor to walls for the function reason and beauty as well. We used Italian marble for the floor. The subtle and elegant veins and cream color immediately create such a soothe atmosphere to anchor the room. The floral mosaic wall echoes the same relaxing tone yet with very feminine floral design to create low-tone luxury.
- When the space is available and plumbing situation allows, always consider to have a free-standing bath tub. The exposed curve adds a touch of elegance to the space. There is a great flexibility to place the tub at any location.
- Have a stylish linen cabinet. It adds more storage space. The one we have here is Baroque style. It looks much more personalized and upscale to have a furniture-like cabinet rather than the built-in one.
- Have a tray cart next to your tub. It is pretty handy for your towels and drinks when you take a bath. Such a wonderful life style at home.
- Always have a vanity chair. The seating invites you to relax and indulge.
- Have the artwork to personize the room.
- Have the flowers for a fresh touch.
Now, I bet you are in a good to take a bath. Where else would you like to be?
I hope you find these 7 tips helpful. Any design-related questions or you are interested in above decor items, please contact me at info@khk-designs.com
All the Best
