Tour A Southampton Escape Inspired By Cosmo With A Constraint Of Palette

We have actually developed an appetite for the tonal neutral interiors as we have been going through the whole pandemic thing since last year, particularly those interiors with a lot of natural light. Those homes are truly heavenly sanctuaries that allow us to wind down, relax and rejuvenate. So, when we came across landscaping architect Perry Guillot’s Southampton escape on AD, we feel the similar verve and fell in love with this serene escape–a playhouse with a garden that is inspired by nothing short of cosmos and has tonal white stucco walls. Guillot is known for the artfully restrained gardens he has created for such clients as Tory Burch, Aerin Lauder, and Reed and Delphine Krakoff.

Overview

The clipped hollies embrace the main entrance of the playhouse. It looks like the sky is on the earth.

We love how the lush textured sprawling plants contrast with the clean-lined white house.

Tour A Sophisticated Yet Livable Portland Oregon Home

It is an art to make a home both sophiticated and livable. Luckily, we came across such a home when we searched inspiration today. The house is located in the historic northwest Portland neighborhood of Kings Heights. It took five years to complete the interiors of this 1922 Federal-style 5,400-square-foot house. The design team did such a great work to find a way to make the home feel open…while still respecting the period of the house.

Hallway

A Calming Hallway With A Muted White Paint

We love the muted white paint on the walls and all of the natural elements from the rug to hanging bags that bring in a touch of nature. The arch doorways , the details on the doors and a framed artwork indicate a sophiticated taste of the owners.

TOUR PARIS’S HOTTEST NEW RESTAURANT

We all have longed for a global travel for a quite while. Since it seems impossible to travel globally for most of us, let’s browse the internet for some cool new design. Today we are going to take a look at a new restaurant in Paris— Mon Square. It’s chic, cute, colorful and use quite a lot of pink. The restaurant has begun to pull in a lively crowd of film stars, politicians, diplomats, neighborhood regulars, and young and trendy Parisians. It is French designer Florence Lopez‘s first public work. We definitely love her approach to make the restaurant inviting, soft, welcome and intimate –kind of the approach when we design residential projects.

Thanksgiving 2020 Decor Ideas–Living Room

We often found our inspiration by looking into nature. Nature always knows what is the best balance in terms of colors, textures and scales. In our recent hiking trips, we were fascinated how color of blue, lavender nicely contrast with earthy tones such as brown, taupe , stone grey and etc…

As our annual tradition, we continue our Holiday Show House of KHK Designs 2020-2021. And this year’s color scheme is inspired by the colors we were most attracted to when we hiked among city lines, deep mountains and coastal lines along SoCal in the year of 2020, a quiet special year for all of us.

Holiday Show-House of KHK Designs 2020–2021—Living Room

Color Palette

In our holiday show-house living room this year, we use different shades of purple as the primary color complemented by navy blue, brown, pink and orange. The overall atmosphere here in this living room is warm, inviting yet chic and romantic. The gold brass on the ottoman, floor lamp and chandelier elevate this living room with a touch of high style and glamor.

Tour a 1902 Tudor Revival House with a Modern Update

The classical design with 19th century English furnishings is always sophisticated and timeless. Today, we are going to virtually tour a 1902 Tudor revival house updated with a modern twist. Here are our favorite highlights.

Entry

The 19th-century English mahogany table is topped with an antique Chinese porcelain bowl; the front door, hardwood floors, and ceiling beams are original to the home. The chandelier is by Gaetano Sciolari, the window-seat cushion is in a Hines & Company fabric, and the throw pillow is in a Donghia fabric. The artwork is by Jack Levine.

Tour A Relaxing Yet Sophisticated Town House in Upper East

We are first attracted by this house because of its color scheme and then the cool textiles and iconic furniture. The town house is owned by textile scion Ashley Stark Kenner and her husband Nick, founder and CEO of Just Salad. The landmarked 19th-century building had a lot going for it—generous dimensions, a deep backyard, and, a rarity among town houses, lots of light. But at their first meeting with New York–based Lichten Architects, talk quickly shifted to “gut renovation.” Here are our favorites after the renovation.

Room Design—A Modern Living Room With A Touch Of Chinoiserie

Trends come and go in fashion and interior design. The most important thing is to have your own touch and your own personality. But the number one thing here is to be curious, open-minded and to be exposed to all kinds of things. More often, you will start to appreciate things that are so different from your point of view.

When design this modern living room, our thought is to make it minimalism in the form but keep it fun and full of character by introducing some classical elements like chinoisere wallpaper, silky pastel plush pillows to have that glamour and softness.
