I like to style the modern house since they often have a clean-line structure and will be easier to add some unique objects and colors to make the spaces interesting rather dull and boring. For the recent project we just did, we approached Client’s interiors in 5 ways to cope with her busy career and her love of modern interiors.
Declutter those she really doesn’t need and those she will not be inspired or feel pleasant with.
Add some quality pieces such as detail-oriented decorative pillows, one-of-the-kind chandeliers based on the pieces the client already has and no need to get rid of at the current moment. For this project, the pieces that the client would like to keep and also inspire me for designing the rest of the decor are this brown leather swivel chair and Moroccan rug from West Elm.
Re-arrange the current floor plan to make it more open and functional.
Casually add some artwork that sing with the interiors.
Dare to choose bold patterns. For this project, we use houndstooth and stripe pattens to contrast with Moroccan rug pattern and add visual interest to the space.

Hello, December! Christmas decorations are in full force. No matter what’s you mood and how busy you are, it’s really up to you to make any holiday season festive, happy and special. There is only one Christmas a year. Why not make it beautiful? If you are not into big construction work, there are so many different ways to decorate your houses in this holiday season. Here is our project I would love to share with you :
There are 5 steps we did for this project:
Change the wall color from the old dull yellowish color to cheerful candy pink—it’s youthful, feminine and elegant. The traditional Regency walnut breakfast table, Louis-XVI chairs and trimmed upholstered sectional sofa add a touch of classic and make the space more grow-up.
Add a cream faux fur area rug to make the room cozy and inviting.
We go all natural from Christmas tree, green branches around beams to dried fruit wreath at the back of the chairs. It’s more fun, inspiring to play with natural materials. Here are some guidelines on how to take care of real Christmas trees.
Have some modern brass lighting fixtures to make the room dazzle–it can truly fresh up an old space immediately.
Make your table display festive and beautiful—it’s show time.
Hope everyone just had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We usually dined out or went to relatives houses for a big family Thanksgiving dinner. This year, we decided to do something different maybe because of LA’s traffic. I am just joking although it is kind of true. The major motivation is that we have some fine China at home and we want to eat healthy as much as we can. Plus I was in a good mood to make some fresh flower arrangements and a Thanksgiving tables cape. So here is what we did.
Fresh flowers always put us in a festive mood. I know it is Fall and it is Thanksgiving. We are supposed to have some colorful foliages. Make sure you are going to have fun. If you are not a super chef or self-claimed one, you can just leave the truly heavy cooking to pros. We ordered a turkey from Honey Baked Ham. It’s so yummy. Therefore, I was able to enjoy myself while cooking cookies, cakes, veggies and setting the table through the day.
Have a lot of fresh flowers.Flowers can instantly put you in a cheerful mood.
Time to take out all of your fine china that you inherited from your grandma.
Have something exotic that people can start a conversation with. We had Belgian endive beef wraps with Sukiyaki sauce and some Chinese steamed food and soup.
Make your dishes as much colorful as you can. It’s festive.
