Iconic Lip Sofa
When we talk about color of red at home, the first thing that comes out of mind is probably Dali’s iconic lip sofa. Around 1935, Spanish artist Salvador Dalí saw something special in the face of movie star Mae West: an apartment. In a watercolor, he turned her blonde curls into portières, her eyes into paintings, her nose into a fireplace, and her lips into a divan. The last was a furnishing so provocative that British arts patron Edward James requested a three-dimensional version. The rest is the history.
The lip sofa is just such a sculptural piece that make a focal point at any space.

This beautiful home is owned by music and fashion industry veteran Kent Belden and husband Dr. Louis Re and designed by AD 100 Brigette Romanek. We first met Barigette in one of the seminars she spoke on design week in PDC. She is such a warm, nice, approachable elegant lady and her design is often vibrant, fashion-forward and unexpected. It’s the first color babies can see and it’s the very first color to vanish as the sun sets.

Entry
From the entry, you probably won’t tell this is going be a colorful home. Instead a large silver artwork by Anselm Reyle and a geometric black console and dark brown round mirror make a statement by forms and rather keep the color palette simple and neutral. We can feel a very masculine energy here.
Library
The neutral palette continues in the living room. But here, two of white curved sofa create a very inviting, cozy and elegant atmosphere here. We feel the feminine energy here. We love how chic and stylish side tables and ottoman with jewel-tone colors just casually sit around those two of the curved white sofa . They are just like beautiful and adorable accessories for this home.
Library
Now color starts to play in this family library. The blue color here is exciting yet very calming too. The colors on walls and furniture pull out the color palette from an abstract artwork atop the fireplace to grantee a harmonious and cohesive feel even though bold colors are applied in this space.
Reading Area
We love this warm pink on two of these reading settees.
Bar
A black bar cabinet and a black vase on top of is understate yet stylish and also well uses the niche space here.
Dining Area
This blue wall by the dining area is opposite the above blue wall. So the key to use a bold color still keeping a balanced and harmonious feel is to repeat the color in a symmetric way. Those hanging little pendants above the dining table are just like jewels for this home. The warm brown on the velvet dining chairs is inviting and nicely contrasts with and well balances off the blue on the walls here.
This swing bed is a great idea when you have a limited space but still want to have some fun.

It has being poured hard outside since earlier this morning in Los Angeles. We guess nothing can beat staying in a warm and comfy home. Today, we are going to talk about 9 ideas for a fresh bedroom upgrade.
1. Have a soothe and relaxing color palette.
Color Sets the Tone for Relaxation
Cool cream—This soft, clean palette is the perfect combination of tranquility and luxury. Using fresh, white linens and a neutral palette similar to this gives your bedroom a hotel-type feel, making it easy to fall into the covers and imagine yourself somewhere far, far away.
Soft Whites, Pinks, & Grays—Soft pinks are another favorite to use when it comes to creating a relaxing mood in the bedroom. Paired with a few simple neutrals, this pretty color is the perfect way to add a soft touch of soothing femininity to a bedroom, like this one featured on the SF Girl site.
Blush, cream, brown. light gray and soft white
In a bedroom, where we most need to strike a calm and relaxing chord, the color becomes an even more important part of creating a sanctuary. Picking a color that you love, and pairing it with the right secondary colors, is the best way to create a space that you will enjoy – one in which you can relax and refresh.
There is just something about cool grays and blues that gives any room a smooth, laid-back vibe. In this bedroom featured on the SF Girl site, the paint color has a touch of purple, giving it a regal, sophisticated feel. Meanwhile, the lighter grays and whites in the space make a statement against the darker painted wall. Investing in good white bedding like this is one of the best ways to make your space feel relaxing and comfortable.
2. Add a stylish bench or a petite loveseat to the end of a bed.
One of the most practical (and therefore traditional) pieces to put at the end of a bed is a bench. The ideal place to plop down and tie your sandals in the morning or kick them off at the end of a day.

4. Upgrade your hanging light fixtures.
A unique hanging light fixture often adds a sophistication layer to a bedroom. Hang the chandelier over the center of the bed. Shorten the chain, so the bottom of the chandelier hangs seven feet above the floor. For ceilings higher than nine feet, consider hanging a two-tier chandelier, so the room doesn’t overpower the chandelier.

5. Hang a pair of smaller chandeliers at each bedside and save precious space on the top of bedside tables. For the most benefit when reading in bed, hang each fixture 20-30 inches above the nightstand so it rests at about the same place as a standard bedside table lamp.

8. Display some artworks.
Show off your style with a statement piece of artwork, whether it’s a sculpture, photograph, or colorful painting. While it can certainly be displayed on a wall, leaning your favorite piece against a wall can be just as powerful.
9. Add greenery fresh flowers.
As always, the quickest and easiest way to upgrade your room from “average” to “expensive-looking” is to add some greenery. What form this takes is up to you: A large fern? Small potted plants on your dresser? No matter how, adding a few plants helps a room make the final leap to luxury. And of course, fresh flowers will add a touch of elegance to your bedroom.
