Hi, guys, we blogged Pantone’s Classic Blue on Christmas Decor and it got a lot of views since it was posted yesterday. Today, we are going to talk about Classic Blue in fashion.
“Over the last few years, a number of different colors have reigned supreme. Millennial pink got the ball rolling (and boy did it roll), followed by Gen Z yellow, slime green, and Aperol orange. But now as Pantone released Color of the Year 2020, we guess we have a fresh stable color to try on. You may think Classic Blue is boring, but as we look certain color more and more, we find beauty and start fall in love with it. From our opinion, Classic Blue is royal and noble. just see how Kate Middleton wears this particular color and how Ralph s Lauren still remains an important player with its signature blue in the fashion and home industries.
Pantone chose Classic Blue for its dependability and stability, two qualities people crave when crossing the threshold into a new era. “Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit, offering refuge,” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said. “It fosters resilience.”
We like the tailored long coat in Classic Blue with the soft-looking light-blue hat and scarf acupuncted by black. The overall-looking transfers the spirit of confidence, courages and determination.Elegant and relaxed.Elegant and Relaxed.

The most fun work sometimes is really about how to transfer those small spaces. Here is the project we did for a small notch area just outside of the powder room. We took care of all the details from flooring, walls, lighting to vignette styling. The size is about 36″ w x 72″H X 14″ D. The client still wanted a wow factor for this area since it’s opposite the powder room. Here are 6 steps we did:
Before
After
Install moden geometric-pattern wallpaper to make the space interesting and playful.
Install a white-gold mirror to light up the space.
Have a sleek brass console . It did take a while to find the right size.
Have a mable-base table lamp which talks to the natural crystal inlay of the mirror.
Have a arrange of decorative objects to finish the whole set.
We did this house several years ago and just made some fresh-up recently. The big change is the drapery. This green silky drapery with Chinoiserie cornice is actually talking to the current silk area rug and the main color scheme in the dining room and living room. I am never a big fan for a cookie-cutter brownish kitchen. By installing this long elegant drapery and some chinoiserie decor and a modern oversized chandelier over the breakfast dining table, we really make the space brighter, much bigger, airy and organized with a touch of elegance. Although it is still traditional, it is very chic and fresh.
It’s a rainy day and it’s Monday. Sun just comes in and off. When all know how that makes us feel. What will be a great way to kick off the week? The answer is if we engage some beautiful activities, we will definitely enjoy this Monday much more. Maybe it’s time to make something special for your surroundings. I just created this little cozy brunch vignette by leveraging beautiful rose blooms outside. I love it! Here are 5 tips to design this beautiful space:
Install some interesting wallpaper in this area.
Have pop of colors. Maybe it’s the color of the lamp shade.
Leverage the beautiful outside view by framing it from inside.
Prepare a healthy brunch for two. Maybe it’s strategizing time for with the partner. Conversations over nicely set-up brunch are always pleasant.
Fresh flowers that will put a big smile on your face.
When September is here, we start to feel the fall. One of the decor styles that has inspired me in the last several weeks is Bohemian style, the style featured with bright colors & patterns, cozy seatings, artsy mix-and-match and vibrant textiles. Aren’t those we love natural beauty for the fall? Then we had this design project and it is a country house. There are exposed beams and stone walls which make house look very organic. And the house is filled with natural light. The client wants to keep the original country style but wants the house look have fresh and updated rather than too heavy and traditional. The client likes bright colors and feminine touches. Here we go— a chic bohemian country style for her. Here for 6 ways how we create the look:
chic bohemian country style
Paint all walls light gray and all trims and ceilings bright white to create a modern clean and crisp backdrop for the later vibrant furnishings and bouncing around light while still keep the stone walls and exposed beams. The contrast of the old and new gives the whole house a very fresh looking.
Have petite upholstered furniture spread around the house such as chairs and ottomans in jewelry tones to give it a sophisticated and feminine touch.
Have bright Moroccan area rugs in the house for the vibrant vibe.
Have unmatched bohemian draperies to make the whole space whimsy, playful and elegant.
Artsy arrangement of modern artworks on the fireplace and walls.
