Wether it is formal, or very casual, a dining room in all kinds of styles–modern contemporary, coastal, bohemian, mid-century modern, Scandinavia often makes a home homy since this is the place where families get together and chill at the end of the day. My design philosophies are: it needs to be beautiful so it can please eye and it also needs to be comfortable so we can totally relax here.

The theme behind our Home for Holidays 2019/2020 is being festive yet without being too much traditional and ornate. We stay with a neutral color palette like pearl white, white-on-white, cream, various brown shades, wood tones while incorporating gold, silver, crystals, muted fashion-forward colors to light up the spaces. The flowers and greenery definitely make the spaces alive and cheerful.
For the dining room, we use light lavender hand-painted Chinoiserie wallpaper to create a very relaxing, calming and feminie feel which is balanced off by masculine dark brown upholtered dining chairs. Also we use a lot of large-scale sculpture-like vases and urns to mix and match with small delicate Christmas ornaments.
We use high and low items for this year’s Home for the Holidays. For the designer pieces, you can order through us and there some decor items you can order through Amazon. All of the order links for the show-house items are attached below. And if you want similar pieces in the show house but with a budget prices, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. This contemporary wingback chair has pulled up to the table in style. Its dramatic upper rail features softly curved Sepia Burl that has been edged in glistening Harvest Bronze. Fully upholstered in a luxurious smoky grey faux dupioni silk, the svelte back is narrower at the top than at the base of the tight seat. The chair’s exposed wood base, front tapered legs and rear sabre legs have been finished in Harvest Bronze.
In case you don’t have that much natural light in your dining room, it will be a perfect time to create an intimate dining space with an enveloped jewel-box specially when the chill weather is coming. We did the exact same thing for the dining room in the hill house in Orange County. Here are the 3 tips how we did:
Here are the 3 tips how we did:
Have a dark monochrome color platte on the walls and flooring.
Use crisp white marble and cream upholstered chairs to create a nice contrast.
Have a good lighting design: the over-sized drum chandelier is the focal point of the whole room.
Have a jewel-tones tablewares and decor objects to dress up the table—we use some glass pumpkins for the seasonal fall decor.
Use upholstered folding screens to invite warmth.
Have a touch of gold like the way we use on the picture frame and brass candle holder.
Hi, guys, Happy Saturday! As usual, I love to work in my garden a little bit earlier in the morning just to refresh my mind and feel good. My backyard garden looks so green and lush now.
So, today, I would like to share the recent makeover I just did for my dining room– new blush draperies, re-upholstered blue velvet French dining chairs, some fresh tabletops, please have a sneak peek:
Spring makes us feel cheerful, fresh, hope, and upbeat. The design of this dining room drew inspiration from nature. Lavender, pink, blush, green and red are all colors we find from spring gardens. With a touch of French sophistication, we celebrate spring in this elegant and feminine room.
Elegance is in the details— the subtle shades of pink, lilac, yellow, the craftmanship on the carvings, the finish of the wood surface , the sophistication of each object and the way how they relate to each other. When we finally put these together, it is a big wow to the client.
It’s right middle of the week. I am looking for something that can cheer me up. Then I saw this design we did recently. Something in this photo makes me feel soft. Maybe it’s a group of pastel-colored pillows on the banquette. Here are 5 ways to create formal, elegant yet relaxing dining room.
Have a neutral color palette with pop of pastel on the ceiling.
Install ceiling-to-the-floor drapery.
Mix formal with cozy. For example, we mix very formal mahogany dining table with this lay-back banquette.
Modern flower arrangement and candles light up this traditional room.
Modern chandelier also adds a touch of freshness to this dining room
