A Day of Traveling Part II

We just had another big earth quick last night in SoCal after the 6.4 one on 4th July! It is 7.1!  Send love and prayer to people who are affected seriously. And I followed Dr. Lucy Jones from CalTech last night the whole night for her analysis on what’s going on. Somehow, listening to her gives me a sense of peace.

Well, when natural disasters happen, we know we need to appreciate all of the beautiful things around us more.  So, guys, let’s continue our Day of Traveling—Part II. There are a lot of beautiful photos for the modern classic interiors I caught during the trip, so it’s time to  sit back and relax.

Arte-decor clubbing house.  The geometric black-and-white rug does the wander for this room. And of course, the brown leather tufted mid-century chairs, the fireplace and wooden wall panelings add the layer of old school traditions  and bring the stories and warmth to the space.

Such an airy and light-filled sitting area. Color of Live Coral on my dress  kind of pops up   in this muted creamy background. The wall panelings add the depth to the space.

I always have a thing with sheer roman shades—they often soften the lights shining through the windows.

Spring Fresh Makeover

The weather has been really nice lately.  The roses in my backyard garden start to bloom.  And there was Valentine’s Day.  Therefore, I decided to do some spring make over a week ago.  The color palette I used here is magenta, pink,  lavender, gold and neutrals.  Here are some vignettes I love to share here:

Playing different shades of pink. Love the pale pink table cloth which makes everything look so soft and subtle.  Gold truly adds a touch of sophistication and class to any space.

Beautiful blooms from my backyard. I mixed purple and hot pink together.  It’s fashionable, chic and cheerful.

Hello Monday

It’s a rainy day and it’s Monday.  Sun just comes in and off.  When all know how that makes us feel.  What will be a great way to kick off the week?  The answer is if we engage some beautiful activities, we will definitely enjoy this Monday much more.  Maybe it’s time to make something special for your surroundings. I just created this little cozy brunch vignette by leveraging beautiful rose blooms outside.   I love it!  Here are 5 tips to design this beautiful space:

  1. Install some interesting wallpaper in this area.
  2. Have pop of colors.  Maybe it’s the color of the lamp shade.
  3. Leverage the beautiful outside view by framing it from inside.
  4. Prepare a healthy brunch for two.  Maybe it’s strategizing time for with the partner.  Conversations over nicely set-up brunch are always pleasant.
  5. Fresh flowers that will put a big smile on your face.

Happy Monday

An Artsy Home Office

artsyoffice

This is our newly designed home office. The color palette is lavender, berry, pink and light grey. It’s feminine, romantic yet very neat.  The office space is not that big. We used curved writing table to avoid heaviness. Pink drapery in the office is kind of relaxing. Large artwork on the wall visually makes the space much bigger and shockingly organized.  Here are the feature designs in the office:

productforofficeI believe your office is where you do your creative work and it shouldn’t be boring. Here are some of the ideas to create artsy, fun and high-style home office:

1. Get rid of clutters.

2. Streamlined operation.

4. Add some interesting color plush. If you are like me, try some berry, lavender and pink colors. For sure, this color palette can put you in the mood and make you focus immediately.

5. Have some interesting pieces like vintage table lamp, books, your collectible shoes , blue-white vases, chinoiserie items… These will express who you are. And you will enjoy your office even more.

6. Have cute and stylish furniture.  Or mix and match different styles to make the room light and playful.  This will  stimulate your creativity.

7. Have a large piece of area rug to make your feet feel comfortable all the time.

What is your office style?  Please let me know your thoughts.
