We all want the freshest, newest and coolest look for our home in the new year, don’t we? If refreshing your home in high style is one of your goals in 2020, please read on this blog since we are going to share some industry insights in the following 5 ways to help you reach your goal in 2020 by showcasing our newly designed dining room project.
First and foremost, always keep true to your own style and choose things that you love and are attracted to. You may notice that there are a strong wave going on years for mid-century style furnishings and you can find mid-century furniture and decor in any big box retailers now . If mid-century is your style, that is all good. But just bear in mind that not all of mid-century furniture is created equal. If you are a classical lover, I have a good news for you that classic design with new twists is coming back big. Millenniums are now looking for one of kinds of vintage pieces, antique and art to curate their own personal style. They definitely don’t want their home just look like their neighbors.
Furniture and part of decor items in this Dining Room will be available on our online store soon.
2. Stay muted natural color palette with pops of color in a subtle and cohesive way is a great approach to create a timeless interior.
3. Layering the room with different elements, patterns and textiles and etc… is another way to create timeless look since layering always bring in interests, depth, dimensions and personalities to the space.
4. Have something sparkling to create a high-design and high-polished style for the room that is important to you and your family.
5. Yes, fresh flowers please. They help add pops of color and make any room alive in a second. We usually prefer to loose style flower arrangements since they often invoke a relaxing vibe.
We love to stroll around LA’s Art District over the weekends. We love to see the young energies and emerging trends here. So often, we are just amazed and entertained by one OF kinds of graffiti on the street. I may not a big fan of graffiti. But I love those in Art District thanks to the beautiful color palette they use and meanings behind each of these street art.
And for today’s trip, we visited several art galleries. They were all very cool and interesting. We specially love the art show ofEttore Sottsass. Ettore Sottsass was an Italian architect and designer during the 20th century. His body of work included furniture, jewellery, glass, lighting, home objects and office machine design, as well as many buildings and interiors. Sottsass made his name as a designer who, through color form and styling, managed to bring office equipment into the realm of popular culture. Today’s show was about his signature cabinets, shelving, ceramic, glassworks.

The beginning of the new year is a great time to create a new look for your home. How excited it is! Today we are going to share 8 tips to fresh up your small spaces. But first of all, we will need to have a right mindset—a small space can have a big style. We guess you are with us. So please read on and see if any of the following advises can be of help to you.
Step 1: Choose a small space that you use daily and need an update to make this space organized and stylish so you feel your life can be on the track in 2020. They can be your kitchen open shelves, your pantry, your powder room, your entry,…etc. And of course your dress room. You may say that I don’t have a room for dressing up myself. That is ok. It can be a corner of your bedroom or your closet or your master bath. What ever it is, we will need some essentials to make things happen. All right, so today we are going to use dress room or dress space as a case study.
We actually just re-designed this dress room from a closet. A good thing about this closet is that it has a tall window. So step 2 to transform any small space is to bring in a lot of natural light if you are lucky. If that is not your case, you always can throw in some table lamps, floor lamps or indirection LEDs to create pretty cozy atmosphere.
Step 3 is to have a fresh paint for your small space. A new coat of paint will change your space in a second. If your small space has a lot of light, we recommend to go for light color just like we did for this small dress-up room. And if your small space is a complete dark space without any window, we recommend to use rich tones to create an enveloped jewel box. So you can totally relax there with your weekend home-made cocktails or Kabucha tea.
Step 4: Upholster anything you have in that space, it can be a vanity chair , a makeup desk or a bench. You can even add some trims for your upholstered piece just like the way we added Grace key trims for the below makeup desk. The trim detail will uplift your small space in a big way.
Step 5: Layer up different styles and different elements to make your small space fun and interesting with your personality. We add a pretty modern pillow in this dress room to break away from the dressy style and still have the pillow in blush color to keep the cohesive vibe.
Step 6: Have sparkling crystals to make your small space dazzling.
Step 7: Have some fresh flowers or preserved flowers to make your small space alive.
Step 8: Yes, art please.

Ok, today, we are going to talk about Renée Zellweger’s stunning Baby Blue dress on the 77th Golden Globe. Obviously, she is not only one of the Best Actress but also one of the best dressed.
This is Zellweger’s fourth Golden Globe win. She won her first Golden Globe in 2001 for her rule in “Nurse Betty.” The next came in 2003 for “Chicago,” followed by 2004 for “Cold Mountain.”
The 47-year-old actress, whose portrayal of Judy Garland in Rupert Goold’s biopic, arrived at the 2020 Golden Globes in a strapless baby blue custom-made Armani Privé gown, featuring a thigh-high slit and crystal-embroidered piping. Zellweger pulled her blonde hair back in a loose updo and wore a soft pink lipstick. She accessorized with matching Jimmy Choo pumps and a gold cuff. Renée completed her outfit with a David Webb gold and diamond bracelet.
She does look stunning in that baby blue gown. So the look is sleek, modern, chic yet classic at the same time. Our take-aways to create Renee’s timeless modern classic look:
Minimalism yet elegant form
Yes, ice blue please,
A touch of glamor—her gold bracelet and crystal pipings on her blue gown
Have something loose( her loose hair style) to relax the overall look.
we know that a beautiful tabletop always makes any event so sweet, memorable and vibrant, not even mentioning prestigious academy events like Golden Globe. The design of the tabletop at 77th Golden Globe is chic, modern with a touch of signature Hollywood glamor—roses and Champaign.
The all-white dinner set choice, for sure, keeps all of the possible chaoes and fusses into the minimum while providing calming and clean backdrop for the beautifully arranged two-tone rose centerpieces, also, I believe, the smiles of the star guests.
Well, Beyonce’s gown really looks good with those bright orange and yellow roses.
Celebrity florist Mark’s Garden is behind the floral designs for this year’s show, and the California-based business flew in more than 10,000 blooms from Ecuador and Italy for the ceremony. The flowers, which have vibrant orange and yellow hues, add a pop of color to the dozens of tables inside the ballroom.
So, learning lesson here to set up a beautiful tabletop in a crowded and busy moment is with a simple table setting. Plus, it is the beginning of the year, you probably want to refresh your table with a minimal effort. White is the easiest color to style – its classic, calm and never goes out of fashion. That’s why every stylish table needs a crisp white tableware collection that’s highly versatile.

We were totally blew away by his all-white angle-like new look . It is super cool, fresh, creative, stunning while still keeping the classical vibes. The sparkling boots, the staple in 90s, are becoming popular recently. We love the all-white color palette. So the truth is that white is always classical and timeless no matter what the current trendy color palettes are. However, to make white stand out, layering and accessorizing are playing such vital roles. Here is what we think the best glamorous interiors to pair with his stunning white outfit: Glamorous all-white bedroom featured with plush white carpet, elegant white sheer drapes, silky bedding set and lamp shades. We love how the mixing-and-matching of traditional and mid-century modern styles. The tassel fringes on the white upholstered chairs truly make such a grandeur.

Hi, guys, just let you know if you feel a little bit sad that the holiday season is over, I have a good news for you that Chinese New Year is coming. Yes, Chinese New Year is on 25th of this month and this year is Year of the Rat and you have to celebrate it in a big way because the year of the rat always indicates a big fortune coming to you. So be ready to receive it.
Well, Do above these adorable rats put a big smile on your face? They are created by Shaun Teo Creations in Kuala Lumpur. I am a big fan of Shaun Teo Creations on Instagram. They craft all kinds of cute cakes for different festivals and events. I have been always got inspired by their work. I believe they are now opening pre-orders for those lovely Chinese New Year’s cookies. Just check them out on Instagram.
So, today , since I am truly inspired by the red color they use for their product, I going to talk about Color of Red in home decor.
Red, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. Red is found everywhere during Chinese New Year and other holiday celebrations and family gatherings.
Here are some inspirations.
Red, specially lacquer red on walls makes rooms look sumptuous and elegant. And of course, you always can choose red as an accent color.
Guys, happy 2020! We kicked off our new year day of 2020 yesterday by a Mimosa toast brunch at home. I love color palette of pink, yellow, green and red, they are fresh, cheerful and chic—a great color scheme to start 2020.
Hope your new year celebration is wonderful too. Just to sum up , there are 3 ways to put up an elegant yet casual tabletop for any events table-tops if you would like those events to be memorable:
Always study cool and trendy receips and create your own based on your own taste and color references.
Always use what you have around you. In our case, we have various greenery and camilier blooms in our backyard at this season.
Last but not the least is to grow your own drink-ware or dinnerware collections over the years since they really make the whole tabletop shine and give you a wonderful moment to enjoy. When you grow your own collections(and they can be from your mother-in-law or your grandma or you explore them from the flea market), you develop eye for elegant table-tops and can really enjoy the fun to mix-and-match.
Hi, guys, how’s your last day of 2019 going so far? As usual, I suddenly came out some ideas from nowhere on how we are going to celebrate NYE 2019 when I woke up this morning. So I have being busy so far and this is so normal for me on any Eves.
First, the sun is out and the temperature is getting higher today. So I bathed about half an hour in the beautiful sunshine in my lush backyard and feel like a new-born baby after a week-long cold and gloomy weather. I guess this is a great way to finish 2019.
Then I have a desire to learn a little bit of the Ball Drop history because I just read that Waterford finished their crystal panel installation at Time Square for tonight’s Ball Drop.
So here is the little history about the Ball Drop: the first fall drop started in 1907 and the ball was made of wood and iron with 100 incandescent bulbs designed by Artkraft Strauss.
Since then, there are several updates on the ball design. There are altogether 7 versions. in 1999, to celebrate the arrival of the new millennium, the fourth-version ball was replaced by a new design constructed by Waterford Crystal. This fourth ball, measuring 6 feet (1.8 m) in diameter and weighing 1,070 pounds (490 kg), incorporated a total of over 600 halogen bulbs, 504 triangle-shaped crystal panels provided by Waterford, 96 strobe lights, and spinning, pyramid-shaped mirrors. The ball was constructed at Waterford’s factory in Ireland, and was then shipped to New York City, where the lighting system and motorized mirrors were installed.
In honor of the ball drop’s centennial anniversary, a brand new fifth design debuted for New Year’s Eve 2008. Once again manufactured by Waterford Crystal with a diameter of 6 feet (1.8 m), but weighing 1,212 pounds (550 kg), it used LED lamps provided by Philips (which can produce 16,777,216 or 224colors), with computerized lighting patterns developed by the New York City-based lighting firm Focus Lighting. The ball featured 9,576 energy-efficient bulbs that consumed the same amount of electricity as only 10 toasters. The 2008 ball was only used once, and was placed on display at the Times Square Visitors Center following the event.
2008–2009 Ball Drop Times Square
For 2009, a larger version of the fifth ball was introduced—an icosahedralgeodesic sphere lit by 32,256 LED lamps. Its diameter is twice as wide as the 2008 ball, at 12 feet (3.7 m), and contains 2,688 Waterford Crystal panels, with a weight of 11,875 pounds (5,386 kg). It was designed to be weatherproof, as the ball would now be displayed atop One Times Square nearly year-round following the celebrations.
Yearly themes for the ball’s crystal panels continued; from 2008 to 2013, the ball contained crystal patterns that were part of a Waterford series known as “World of Celebration”, including themes such as “Let There Be Light” and “Let There Be Peace”. For 2014, all the ball’s panels were replaced, marking a new theme series known as “Greatest Gifts”, beginning with “Gift of Imagination”.
The numerical sign indicating the year (which remains atop the tower along with the ball itself) uses Philips LED lamps. The “14” digits for 2014 used Philips Hue multi-color LED lamps, allowing them to have computerized lighting cues. And you can read the rest story by clicking here.
So basically the ball we saw today was constructed in 2009 and Waterford changes the triangle panel design yearly based on the different themes. Here are some photos for this year’s triangle panel design:
192 new triangles adorned with the 2020 Gift of Goodwill pattern of three pineapples, the international symbol for hospitality. The new Gift of Goodwill design features three pineapples, the traditional image of hospitality and goodwill.
A select group of 100 Waterford employees — from engineers, glassblowers and technicians — are involved in the design and manufacture of the New Year’s Eve Ball, a process that begins in mid-January.
And of course you can watch their ball drop live stream tonight on their website.
In case you’ll be ringing in 2020 with a glass of bubbly in hand, watching the New Year‘s Eve Ball descend from its flagpole atop One Times Square and crooning. Let’s get cozy in style. I have some recommendations for you:
