We usually have a back-to-back workout schedule over the weekend –long distance hiking and running. So it is pretty tiring at the end of the day. And recover is the key for us to get back to the weekly track. We usually do carbs loading over the weekends and find it is really help accelerate the recovery. One of our favorite things to do after the hiking and running is to just chill out in our backyard by the fireside and enjoy some garden fresh–some we got from the farmer’s market and some we picked up from our backyard. We feel those rich autumn colors really put us in a festive mood.
Today is the last day of August, 2020. And fall is approaching. Nature always knows the best colors to please our mood in the season. Plum, dark red, dark purple, indigo, brown, all beautiful warm rich jewel-tones inspire us to create a fall-themed fantasy.
Today is the second day of Nov. The weather is warm and beautiful. What can be better than just chilling out in the garden and bathing in the warm and soft fall sunshine in the late afternoon like this?
Well, don’t you just love all of these rich jewel-tone colors. Fresh flowers always put a big smile on my face.
Just chilling out here.
Emerald green looks great in the warm and soft fall sunlight. Fall is not just about earthy tones, orange …. In fall, I still love my pink roses. Pink, deep dark brown, navy blue, black and white and of course emerald green—-they are such a chic, fresh yet warm color palette for this fall.
It is one day away from Halloween. We FINALLY feel the chill of fall in Los Angeles thanks to the strong Santa Ana wind today. Our yesterday’sCelebrate Color of Orange—5 Ways to Incorporate Color of Orange into Your House has gotten super popular. If you haven’t read, you can click here to read. Today we are going to share 4 spiced pumpkin rooms from Schumacher Archive.
The cream walls and ceiling balance off the saturate orange color on the floor. Even through there is a drama, overrall, it is still a pretty calming space thanks to large areas of cream colors and symmetrical design.
I feel this is a perfect place for me to have a warm fall afternoon nap with soft sunlights. The chinoiserie wallpaper on the walls adds touch of elegance.
Spiced pumpkin drapery is such a nice contrast with the timeless black-white geometrical-patterned wallpaper. The pairing is just like a balanced Yin and Yang. I am always drawn to a skirted table-cloth on the round table in the living room. Somehow, a table-cloth always elevates the space in a second. Suddenly we are ready for a gathering. And of course, the yellow roses on the blue-and-white vases just add another cheerful layer in this happy moment.
Well, we all need a moment to just loose up. This orang-color enveloped space is cheerful yet relaxing with Bohemia vibes.
The past weekend was crazy and fun. We went to West Edge Design Fair and truly inspired by a lot of cool designs. Hopefully, I am able to share our inspirations here soon. Anyway, my Monday always starts with playing textiles, flowers in different shades and colors and set up the mood colors and design theme for the whole week. For this week, we are in the mood for red, dark purple and pink complemented by leafy green. The color palette suits for current fall decor–fashionable, elegant and quiet. Through the week, we will share some of our design projects based on this color palette. Here are some photos from our studio this morning.
I always spend some time in the flower market on Sundays. Love these red tulips.
Dark purple is such a beautiful color for flower arrangement for this fall decor.
Nature is always my inspiration.
Purple and pink.
Red roses in the morning sunshine. Coffee is served.
My favorite spot on Monday, where I create our weekly design theme and color palettes.
