We all have that moment at some point or another—stressed, anxious and overwhelming. When do you do when you are stressed? Take a long walk by the beach, in the mountain or woods? When I am stressed, I often start doing house cleaning and try to look for or create peace in my environment. This morning, I found this IG post by @yoyokulala

I feel this photo really makes a point—Destination: the couch. At current post-Covid19 period, we probably still cannot travel like before. But there is a possibility that we can create that type of global traveling experience right at home—the natural wicker global-influenced sofa, the wicker curtain in the background, the wicker wall decor objects, wicker Fendi handbag and that beautiful and relaxing small-floral pattern printed long dress all create such a perfect resort get-away scene. I wouldn’t mind spending my summer time here just chilling out. What about you?
Nature organic wicker furnishings are in trend now. They satisfy human being’s need to close to nature. Yes, we, human being, feel good when we are in nature. Just think about how soft morning glows put a big smile on your face! That is all biophilic designabout.
When I am writing this blog, I am playing @dnice IG live in the background. I truly don’t know what’s American quarantine’s life like without @dice Club Quarantine. I am grateful that he makes everyone feel upbeat, connected and belonging. Now it is one of our rituals to dress up for @dnice IG live parties on Saturdays.
Well, spring 2020 is quite different. We used to go to different design shows, natural reserves, concerts, galleries, public gardens, flower shows… And this year, we spent most of time in our backyard. Here are some of my spring moments in my backyard.

Happy Friday, guys! After the first 5 days of staying-at-home quarantine, you may want to relax a little and experience something exotic without leaving your comfort home. Today, we are continuing our global home tour series. Today is part II. You can click here to read part I.
Today, we will take you to tour Colombian fashion designer Johanna Ortiz’s Cartagena vocation home.
Cartagena is a port city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. By the sea is the walled Old Town, founded in the 16th century, with squares, cobblestone streets and colorful colonial buildings. With a tropical climate, the city is also a popular beach destination. Reachable by boat are Isla de Barú, with white-sand beaches and palm trees, and the Islas del Rosario, known for their coral reefs.
You can see from the photos above, Cartegena is a vibrant town with a breathtaking view of Caribbean Sea and a lot of indigenous culture and crafts. It must be a lot of fun just strolling around here.
So here is the fashion designer– Johanna Ortiz standing at her front door of her vocation home which she comes to visit 7 times a year. The black-and-white color scheme of an ancient Chinese wood door and exterior walls sets the tone for a quiet understated resort.
Then comes a hallway where hand-made Mexican concrete flooring repeats the color scheme of black-and-white on the exteriors. Yet, a colonial antique wood table and wood-framed mirror together with local vintage pieces on the table add layers of warmth. A French crystal chandelier is romantic and sophisticated.

Here is her salon. We love a super long comfy modern sofa paired with a Chinese Ming dark wood coffee table. And a tiger print throw rug on the floor adds a modern flair to this space.
In her bedroom daybed area, comes her play on textiles—floral and geometric prints mingle happily here. The blue-and-white color scheme is peaceful, relaxing and pleasing to the eye.

The red chinosoriee on plush pillows, bed coverlet and chaise lounge chair are warm and inviting.
Here is our favorite space of the home–terrace under a vaulted brick ceiling. We could just sit here for a whole day. The mix of fine crystal glasses, vintage pieces and local crafts on a large Spanish table are just so striking.

One of the exciting things for us besides visiting Market is to check out the design in new hotels. Since our time is quite tight, so we just visited one or two new hotels.
