Happy Mother’s Day

“But there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall…  Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother’s story, because hers is where yours begin.”
― Mitch Albom, For One More Day.   A beautiful Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Spring Fresh Makeover

The weather has been really nice lately.  The roses in my backyard garden start to bloom.  And there was Valentine’s Day.  Therefore, I decided to do some spring make over a week ago.  The color palette I used here is magenta, pink,  lavender, gold and neutrals.  Here are some vignettes I love to share here:

Playing different shades of pink. Love the pale pink table cloth which makes everything look so soft and subtle.  Gold truly adds a touch of sophistication and class to any space.

Beautiful blooms from my backyard. I mixed purple and hot pink together.  It’s fashionable, chic and cheerful.

Sunday Flower Market

It was raining in LA yesterday.  It looks like the weather is always getting wet around Thanksgiving.  But we still decided to go to the flower market and get some fresh beauties for Thanksgiving decor.  We, for sure, didn’t feel disappointed at all.  Seriously what can make you more happier than surrounding yourself with tons of roses and greenery with all sorts of colors.  Life is beautiful and it truly up to us to explore.flowermarket-1

6 Steps to Transform a Small Space

The most fun work sometimes is really about how to transfer those small spaces.   Here is the project we did for a small notch area just outside of the powder room.   We took  care of all the details from flooring, walls, lighting to vignette styling.  The size is about 36″ w x 72″H X 14″ D.  The client still wanted a wow factor for this area since it’s opposite the powder room.  Here are 6 steps we did:

  1. Install moden geometric-pattern wallpaper to make the space interesting and playful.
  2. Install a white-gold mirror to light up the space.
  3. Have a sleek brass console .  It did take a while to find the right size.
  4. Have a mable-base table lamp which talks to the natural crystal inlay of the mirror.
  5. Have a arrange of decorative objects to finish the whole set.
  6. Place fresh florals arrangement.
