Coastal Maximalism

Every time when people talk about California coastal interiors, it is always kind of either white, cream or blueish color palettes with signature California lay-back vibes. But not for this one.  It is located right at Corona Del Mar , So Cal and has a perfect polished modern classical style with maximalism in mind. The home is owned by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson, the co-founders of the California-based cosmetics brand Too Faced. Then, I guess you expect some big wows!

Interior designer Mary MacDonald create such wonderful color palettes for each room:

Feminine hot pink pops up from cream, white and grey background with masculine architectural elements.

The entry hall staircase is so French featured  with gilded rails, hand-painted wallpaper, marble stairs.  White, gold and black create such a modern classic tone for t5he whole house

Grey, white, gold again create classic atmosphere in the master bath and wooden ottoman add a touch of warmth to this all marble-covered space.

Love this pink guest bathroom. Pink, black and strong geometric patterns balance off each other.

The Most Expensive House on Earth

Villa Les Cèdres, a 187-year-old, 18,000-square-foot, 14-bedroom mansion set on 35 acres that include 300 year old olive trees is on the market for $410 million and the current owners are betting that the house’s combination of history, luxury, and a prime location along the coast of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat will be enough to make it the most expensive residential sale in history.

a Piece of Paris

This weekend has been fantastic.  We were able to dine the newly open French restaurant, Le Petit Paris. in Downtown, Los Angeles. It’s a very classic European decor with LA glamour—not too stuffy. It’s actually very casual and relaxing.  You can just be here for whatever the reasons. I love the whole seating arrangement—open and airy, the lighting, jewel-tone color palettes, furnishings and live DJ.  Here are some photos I would love to share with you:

I love the open waiting area–over-sized Eiffel Tower photograph and simplified wall panelings. The cream and gray tiles look very chic yet historical.

The interiors are simply stunning. I just soaked myself in this Parisian glamor for the whole time.
