This small ornate antique mirror is very interesting and whimsical and has a nice contrast with the contemporary wall paneling.

The new pleated silk trimmed lamp shade gives a new life to this antique ceramic table-lamp.We particularly love this wide green banding at the bottom of the lamp-shade and it adds a touch of fresh elegance to an aged object.A newly reupholstered French salon sofa looks fresh and chic.

Hi, guys, we just came back from Las Vegas Winter Market 2020 to see all of the new products, trends, technologies , to participate industry round table discussions and seminars in furniture and home decor industry. Overall it was a very productive trip since we were also able to visit several new hotels after the Market. And of course the fabulous Botanical Garden in Belagiowhich features Lunar New Year zodiac theme each year. And for today’s blog, we are going to talk about the hotel room where we stayed for this trip–Park MGM. It is the newest hotel in Las Vegas. Park MGM’s design is “inspired by urban parks and gardens, and combines timeless European style with an intimate, modern sensibility.”
Yes, we love the room—simple, clean, urban, cozy yet with some traditional charms like vintage artworks, regency mid-high wood table and brass wall scones with white linen lamp shades.
Color Palette of emerald green accents walls with crisp white beddings, adjacent walls and ceiling is fresh, relaxing and modern.
The white linen lampshades add softness and sophistication to the room.

The gallery wall is quite impressive.
And we love this oval wood mid-high regency table in front of the sofa. It is more stylish and functional than the regular low coffee tables since we can also use it as a big writing desk. When we took shuttle bus to the Market, we chatted with many colleagues and they loved that type of table too.

The long mid-century modern sofa against the window has two tones–green and teal. And we actually saw a lot of green-and-teal combo products in the Market.
And we love to chill here every day after the Market.
Time to check out the bathroom—-modern, clean and crisp.
We extremely love the emerald green tiles in the shower—take a look:
Well, the most striking part in the room is the window view:
We are able to see Aerial. This is the breath-taking window view in the evening.
Hope you enjoy the room as we do.
To be continued.

It had been super busy in the last several days from WestEdge show to working on the on-going projects. WestEdge is hosted every year at the end of Oct mainly to show local small home goods makers’ handcrafted products in Los Angeles and of course some global brands in kitchen and bath as well. The show venue is usually modern and chic. I partially enjoy their outdoor lounge area in the beautiful SoCal sunshine in fall. Here are 3 homes trends we saw from this year’s show:

DTLA has being gone through the major transformation within last several years. Every time, we are here, we always can see something new and feel something new. So it is pretty exciting experience to explore new DTLA for food, cafe, architectures, boutique hotels, museums, etc. And often the landscape of the mix -and- max of the new with historical buildings make the city so charming.
We were recently invited to a preview party of new property in China Town which is really close to city hall. The property is multi-purpose combining with retails and residential. I am pretty amazed by how they use the color, patterns and mid-century furniture they choose.
Here is the pretty cool location. You can see the city hall is right in the middle. Photo by Robert Ke The property has several buildings featured cheerful bright color blocks.
When you enter the 4th floor lobby, you see this kitchen first. First of all, I really like the color palette they chose here–cool high-glossy navy blue on the cabinetry with warm textured brown copper tiles on the wall and floor. The white quarts countertop finishes the whole vignette look with a touch of fresh modern crispness. Second of all, I quite like how they design the shelving box around the fridge—it’s kind of not that serious but pretty stylish and thoughtful vibe. Yes, a good work flow, plenty of countertops and relax vibes often create a dream place to host a big social party. Here is a huge industrial chandelier at one of the entries. One of the cool features for this property is how they mix and match different styles of lighting fixtures which makes ceilings and vertical spaces so interesting. Different layers of lighting design make your eyes always look up and move around and find that unique object. These playful pendants hanging over the large table in the lobby contrasts with the masculine chandelier by the entry we were just talking about above. This is another example how they mix different styles of light fixtures.
A perfect picture frame. Now you know Pantone Live Coral really plays big this year.
And of course, I cannot miss a great selfie opportunity with this colorful and alive urban landscape.
And here is one I stand outside on the roof of the building. These cute pool side chairs carry Brazilian cheerful vibes and you feel they invite you to have a seat on them. These cute pool side chairs carry Brazilian cheerful vibes and you feel they invite you to have a seat on them. And I am really obsessed with this day bed. Can I have a drink here, please ?Hahaha, with my pink flamingo.
And a rooftop swing in a stylish shape and cool color.
From color schemes , forms, textures, to mix-and-match styles, lighting fixtures, furniture, I often find my inspiration from newly renovated hotels. Here are four of recent renovated hotels I am in love with:
It might be a little bit late to post our Holiday ShowHouse 2018–2019. But come on, it’s still Jan of 2019 and Chinese New year is coming. So it’s time to be festive and it’s time to celebrate.
The inspiration of our Holiday ShowHouse 2018—2019 is inspired by Pantone Color of the Year 2019–Live Coral—fashionable, bold, youthful, energetic and innovative. After several years of muted color palettes, millennium pink and grey, we feel it is time to break through to celebrate holidays with something fresh. Therefore, we are able to stay prospective for the future. Meanwhiles, Holidays are truly about traditions. We mix and match traditions with modern, Live Coral with vintage pink, emerald green with hot pink, camel with purple, Chinoiserie accessories with minimalism furniture, geometric patterns with classic forms and fine crystals with organic ceramic. The end result of this year’s holiday show house decoration is fun, edgy, playful yet still elegant and sort of traditional. Enjoy!
