Today had the perfect weather to hike in the mountains—foggy and some drizzling.
We hiked about 5 miles and felt how important to escape into nature for a refresh. “I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” —John Burroughs
Plus, we were able to see some fall colorful foliage. “Colors are the smiles of nature. “—Leigh Hunt
Another little pleasing surprise came from this neighborhood realtor office when we were about to leave the hiking area. They put up such a lovely Halloween decor for their front yard.
Well, it is the time to have fun. Happy Halloween!

I am totally in love with Halloween. The more I work on our Halloween House project, the more I feel Halloween is the coolest festival ever. It is so much fun to play with the decors and have a lot of creative spirits from all sorts of skulls, pumpkin crafts to the horror scenes. I literally can find my inspirations wherever I go. Here is what I saw wen I stepped in Target last night:
So adorable. These little painted pumpkins put a big smile on my face when I did my weekly heavy grocery shopping.
For the year of 2016, we took a romantic approach on creating our Halloween House of KHK Designs. Yes, we believe Halloween can be a little bit scary, fun yet elegant and sophisticated. The idea sparked me when I visited gardens. I usually only like to go to gardens in spring time. But my recent visits to gardens make me deeply fall in love the gardens in fall–colorful pumpkins and foliages, warm sunshine and fun festive spirit.
I love to get lost in the field of pumpkins.
Just open the cabinet of curosity
Always love to work with flowers.
All right, should we start the tour of our Halloween House?
Pop of orange on the upholstered chinossorie chair, pillow, roses and pumpkin creates immediate happy , festive and inviting vibes. The little greeting ghost hanging on the gold umbrella stand is fun and playful. Pairing orange with gold adds a sense of chic elegance for the house.
I am obsessed with layering pink in different textiles, pattens and shades, on pillows, ottomans and velvet pumpkins. A group of hanging ghosts are my favorite in this room. They are rather cute than scary. The settee, skirted ottoman and Louis XVI chair make the room very lady-like and elegant.
Flanked by two modernized English chairs in muted dusted pink shade fabric with the contrasting blue piping , a hand-made renaissance gilded cabinet with dark blue turtle wallpaper inside displays a group of blue-and-whites, pumpkin crafts. A group of chinoiserie pumpkin floral arrangement creates a beautiful focal point on a white lacquered table. I really like to use a little touch of gold everywhere.
I will post the rest of house tour soon.

The most beautiful moment of a day during earlier fall is the late afternoon when sun glow becomes soft, rich, saturated and muted warm. Everything at this moment just looks so adorable. I am still working on the design of our Halloween House. Hopefully, it is coming soon. Please stay tuned with us.
After all, it’s TGIF! Time to chill out a little bit. I spent some time shooting photos, shopping and having a sip of coffee…
Yes. Halloween is coming. We are in the process of creating some Halloween-themed vignettes. By doing so, we seek inspirations from fashion, different places and industries. The first place we went to is the Happiest Place on Earth—Disney Land. Here are some cool found we may incorporate into our project.
It’s a big cake. Actually, the biggest Halloween cake I have ever seen. Such an inspiration!
2017 collection. Love the orange color and design.
