The more time you spend at home, the more you are likely to notice some detail you don’t like and you want to do something about it. In case after 6-weeks of quarantine, you kind of develop a big plan to elevate your home and feel a little bit overwhelmed, don’t worry, we have 3 simple rules you may want to consider and we will use one of the projects we did as a case study:
Choose a color palette you love and repeat it through the whole house in an unexpected yet classy way. We repeat the color palette of pink and green through the whole house in this project in the above video.
2. Own one or two pieces you really treasure and showcase or design around them. The custom-made Murano table lamp with a pink shade, the artwork and green velvet bar chairs in the above video are what my client really falls in love with and they are the focal points in her home.
3. Mix and match pieces from different styles and periods to keep the overall design interesting and timeless. In the video above, Louis XVI bar chairs are classical while the green midcentury chairs in the family room is mid-century, which creates such a nice contrast with all of the traditional components in the house.
We designed this modern classical dining room a while several years ago. The client was more into the elegance and sophistication of tradition style but would like to have a more modern and clean-lined look. Besides choosing simplified classical furnishings with modern twists, we kept walls as clean possible to provide a perfect backdrop for all of the traditional furnishings. And we added same wall-color wall trims to create depth and dimension. Continue reading →

The concert was pretty awesome. The star-studded benefit featured at-home performances by the likes of Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, Dave Grohl and more. Tim McGraw, Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong and Sam Smith also performed, while Demi Lovato, Lizzo and Lady Gaga made special appearances during the evening encouraging fans with messages of hope and positivity.
For us, we are also very excited to see a little bit how these celebrities live and what their living rooms look like. Read on to see our 9 takeaways on how these Celebrities’ live.
1. The navy blue sofas are the most popular ones in these celebrities home.
Alicia Keys’ mid-century navy blue tufted sectional is chic, comfy and stylish. An orange pillow just adds a perfect pop of color. The navy blue in the artwork over the sectional and her piano continue the blue theme. Then a wood oval mid century modern coffee-table breaks the navy blue theme and let the eye take a rest.Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong’s super comfy and plush navy blue sofa in his home studio. We love the same color patterned pillows on his sofa.

Happy international Women’s Day! Great news here! One of the big names in fashion industry Diane Von Furstenberg just teamed up with Amazon to launch a capsule collection for International Women’s Day 2020 dubbed “Women InCharge.” She also debuted an exclusive Amazon store that showcases popular products from female small business owners and authors.
Diane von Furstenberg is a Belgian-American fashion designer, best known for her eponymous label, which is often shortened to DvF, and her iconic wrap dresses.
Here are three staples of Diane von Furstenberg’s International Women’s Day Collection on Amazon:
“The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself. Because no matter what happens, you will always be with yourself.” ― Diane Von Furstenberg
“Fear is not an option.” “Don’t dwell on the dark side of things, but look for the light and build around it. If one door closes, look for another one to open.” “Never, ever, blame others for what befalls you, no matter how horrible it might be. Trust you, and only you, to be responsible for your own life.” ― Diane Von Furstenberg, The Woman I Wanted to Be
One of the fun things we love to do at home is to sit around the dining table with candles on and soft music on at the end of the day. We feel we really need this to wind down each day and to get ready for a good-night sleep. we also love to put up a festive themed tabletop on each holiday since we celebrate almost every holiday as much as we can. Besides kitchen, a dining room is the place where people get together with families and friends for formal parties or casual gatherings all the time. So, the design of a dining room is really important for you to enjoy by yourself to the maximum and nourish your loving relationships. And you want this space to be unique and reflect your own personality and of course well designed. Today we are going to talk about 12 ways to devise a one-of-the-kind dining room.
1. Decide function first. Before you start the design process, you need to know how you would like to use this space—a formal dining or a casual gathers only? The way how you want to use the space will set the foundation for the design process.
Alex Papachristidis’s dining room for last spring’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York incited a frenzy on social media—so much so that even the interior designer, a bit of an Instagram sensation himself with more than 52,000 followers, was surprised. Still, he’d expected the room to make an impression. “That’s what you do with a showhouse: You go wild,” he says. “People want to be wowed.”
Although the dining room is getting more casual and relaxed, still, most of home owners still want to make their dining room very formal with a big wow factor. If this the case, the striking artwork, unique wall-treatment, flooring, right light fixtures, one-of-the-kind furnishings and upscale custom furniture might be the options for you to consider. In this New Yorker Designer Alex Papachristidis designed dining room, the light-grey-colored hand-painted wallpaper is one of the key features for this stunning sumptuous dining room. Also the gilded Louis XVI dining chairs really stand out from the muted almost monogram color palette. The crystal chandelier, the gilded clock further emphosis the wow factor and luxury feel. So our suggestions here to crrate a formal dining room: invest in a good-quality dining table setting and choose furnishings to compliment the dining table setting.

2. Have a focal point.
The trick here is to make the table the center of attention, so that your guests are compelled to take a seat and dinner companions are the main focus. Once the table is situated, arrange all other furnishings and accessories so that they complement this focal point. Also read this article on tables-capes.
We love this refined combined with rustic look. It’s truly a lay-back space with a high style thanks to the comfy slippery chair, the rustic wood table and floral wallpaper.
The pink fresh roses on the table , soothe blue fabric on the dining chairs and plushy pillows on the banquette create such a calming dining setting to invite you to take a seat.
The wasabi-wasabi like chandelier and the long wood table are casual, relaxing with a big style.
Aren’t you thrilled to be invited to sitting around this polish dining setting.

We love the silver-leaf ceiling treatment which looks elegant and bounce light around.
a scenic tapestry on the wall can be a conversation starter.
4. Mix and Match.
Mixing and matching furnishings, lighting, or artwork is a fun part to design your dining room. It often creates unexpected result and makes the style of the space timeless.
In this space, six neutral dining chairs are contrasted by two zebra print armchairs.

We assume you want to have a dining room unlike any other. So please always look for custom furnishings. A one-of-a-kind table or unique chairs will help a dining room stand out. The custom, live-edge wood table is the focal point of this space

Well, we hope you can enjoy your Friday like this lady in the video:
It has being poured hard outside since earlier this morning in Los Angeles. We guess nothing can beat staying in a warm and comfy home. Today, we are going to talk about 9 ideas for a fresh bedroom upgrade.
1. Have a soothe and relaxing color palette.
Color Sets the Tone for Relaxation
Cool cream—This soft, clean palette is the perfect combination of tranquility and luxury. Using fresh, white linens and a neutral palette similar to this gives your bedroom a hotel-type feel, making it easy to fall into the covers and imagine yourself somewhere far, far away.
Soft Whites, Pinks, & Grays—Soft pinks are another favorite to use when it comes to creating a relaxing mood in the bedroom. Paired with a few simple neutrals, this pretty color is the perfect way to add a soft touch of soothing femininity to a bedroom, like this one featured on the SF Girl site.
Blush, cream, brown. light gray and soft white
In a bedroom, where we most need to strike a calm and relaxing chord, the color becomes an even more important part of creating a sanctuary. Picking a color that you love, and pairing it with the right secondary colors, is the best way to create a space that you will enjoy – one in which you can relax and refresh.
There is just something about cool grays and blues that gives any room a smooth, laid-back vibe. In this bedroom featured on the SF Girl site, the paint color has a touch of purple, giving it a regal, sophisticated feel. Meanwhile, the lighter grays and whites in the space make a statement against the darker painted wall. Investing in good white bedding like this is one of the best ways to make your space feel relaxing and comfortable.
2. Add a stylish bench or a petite loveseat to the end of a bed.
One of the most practical (and therefore traditional) pieces to put at the end of a bed is a bench. The ideal place to plop down and tie your sandals in the morning or kick them off at the end of a day.

3. Have a vanity or writing desk–a clever and pretty way to spend more time in your bedroom in a style.
If you have a small room, you can think about replacing your regular nighstands with a sleek writing desk or vanity desk.

4. Upgrade your hanging light fixtures.
A unique hanging light fixture often adds a sophistication layer to a bedroom. Hang the chandelier over the center of the bed. Shorten the chain, so the bottom of the chandelier hangs seven feet above the floor. For ceilings higher than nine feet, consider hanging a two-tier chandelier, so the room doesn’t overpower the chandelier.

5. Hang a pair of smaller chandeliers at each bedside and save precious space on the top of bedside tables. For the most benefit when reading in bed, hang each fixture 20-30 inches above the nightstand so it rests at about the same place as a standard bedside table lamp.

6. Over-filled pillows on your bed.
There’s something so luxurious about plush, overfilled throw pillows, which go a long way in transforming your bedroom from “everyday” to a bonafide retreat that emulates the most sumptuous of hotels.

7. Incorporate a rug. Adding texture and warmth to your bedroom is one of the easiest ways to boost its style factor. Whether you’re partial to florals or understated designs, like jute, a chic rug can pull your bedroom together in an instant.

8. Display some artworks.
Show off your style with a statement piece of artwork, whether it’s a sculpture, photograph, or colorful painting. While it can certainly be displayed on a wall, leaning your favorite piece against a wall can be just as powerful.
9. Add greenery fresh flowers.
As always, the quickest and easiest way to upgrade your room from “average” to “expensive-looking” is to add some greenery. What form this takes is up to you: A large fern? Small potted plants on your dresser? No matter how, adding a few plants helps a room make the final leap to luxury. And of course, fresh flowers will add a touch of elegance to your bedroom.

We often have fun to mix high and low, old and new and of course different aesthetics. Mixing of all kinds will add interest and character into the space. In order to keep the cohesive vibe overall, we will have to use some common elements to thread through the different layers. And here is the case study for the corner space for the project we recently designed. We would like to create a chic, fresh, elegant, polished decor style while still keeping it inviting and cozy. Here is how we did it—today, we are going to share 6 tips on how we artfully mix high and low, modern and classical, old and new to achieve this goal.
Rule #1, always keep an overall color palette neutral if you are going to take a mix& match approach.
Color palette–cream, ivory, champaign, blush, muted pastels, blue, orange and gold
We all want the freshest, newest and coolest look for our home in the new year, don’t we? If refreshing your home in high style is one of your goals in 2020, please read on this blog since we are going to share some industry insights in the following 5 ways to help you reach your goal in 2020 by showcasing our newly designed dining room project.
First and foremost, always keep true to your own style and choose things that you love and are attracted to. You may notice that there are a strong wave going on years for mid-century style furnishings and you can find mid-century furniture and decor in any big box retailers now . If mid-century is your style, that is all good. But just bear in mind that not all of mid-century furniture is created equal. If you are a classical lover, I have a good news for you that classic design with new twists is coming back big. Millenniums are now looking for one of kinds of vintage pieces, antique and art to curate their own personal style. They definitely don’t want their home just look like their neighbors.
Full-body drapery panels, upholstered furniture always elevate a room elegantly in a big way. Well-made and crafted pieces are always worthy of an investment in a long term. In this dining room design, we pair 4 blush linen upholstered slipper-covered chairs with 2 of Champaign gilded modernized Louis XVI chairs to create a very sophisticated yet relaxing dining atmosphere.
We love these clean-lined modern classic furniture with beautiful details.
Furniture and part of decor items in this Dining Room will be available on our online store soon.
2. Stay muted natural color palette with pops of color in a subtle and cohesive way is a great approach to create a timeless interior.
We stay neutral for all of main furniture, wall colors and drapery while having pop of color in artworks, crystal vases, fresh flower arrasngments
We love how pink, purple, blue play off with neutral background colors –blush, blue and cream in this dining room. Plus, blue on Waterford tumblers is relevant to the theme color of 2020— Pantone color of the Year–Classic Blue. You always can easily replace these items as the season is changing to keep your home fresh year around.
At this time of the year, we would like to have some touch of Chinoiserie not only because they sing with the rest of the room decor also because Chinese New Year is coming and it is the time to celebrate the year of rat with our handpicked oriental decor.
3. Layering the room with different elements, patterns and textiles and etc… is another way to create timeless look since layering always bring in interests, depth, dimensions and personalities to the space.
We love this oriental blue-and-white vase sitting on a white gilded pedestal.
What an intricate pattern on the large blue-and-white porcelain vase.
4. Have something sparkling to create a high-design and high-polished style for the room that is important to you and your family.
Crystal chandeliers and crystal decor objects are always our go-to items to create high-style interiors. In this case, a modern crystal chandelier echos crystal vases on the dining table. We love to use a group of vases with different sizes to create a more fun and relaxing atmosphere.
An amethyst Vase is modern and fashion-forward.
5. Yes, fresh flowers please. They help add pops of color and make any room alive in a second. We usually prefer to loose style flower arrangements since they often invoke a relaxing vibe.
A group of loose flower arrangements in crystal and ceramic vases are chic, cheerful and elegant. They, for sure, enhance your appetite.
