This Saturday we hiked on Paseo Miramar Trail. Althiough it is said the trail is moderate difficult. Considering the high temperature, it is not really that easy. Parker Mesa Overlook offers panoramic views of Santa Monica Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The coastline spans from Palos Verdes to Malibu, with nothing but blue in between.Continue reading
This weekend we hiked Arroyo Seco. It was so much a fun since we got a lot of chances to cross the little streams. And the terrains are quite diversified.
Here I was standing in front the skyline of JPL. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory is a federally funded research and development center and NASA field center in the city of La Cañada Flintridge with a Pasadena mailing address, within the state of California, United States
We really love the stone bridge–quite interesting to see one here in the wildness!Continue reading
Since pandemic crisis, we have being more focused on local hiking. We will have to say that it is actually pretty cool experience to explore some of these local tails and wonder how come we didn’t do this type of local hike before. It is much easier and relaxing and allow us to have a hard-core workout on very next day. We explored Santa Fe Dam last weekend. Read on to see where we headed to this Saturday.
So, this Saturday we hiked Carbon Canyon Park in Orange County this Saturday. Carbon Canyon Regional Park is a regional park in Brea, California that was created after the Carbon Canyon Creek was dammed. It links up with Chino Hills State Park on the east side. The reason we hiked this park because of the Redwood Grove. But it turned out there were more fun here.
Yes. It was just amazing to visit this Butterfly Garden in Carbon Canyon Regional Park earlier in the morning. In the photo above, I was standing by a California Sage. They often call this white sage. But we just love the color.
Here comes the famous Redwood Grove in the park. Redwood is native to Northern California thanks to the rain and humid weather over there. We have been to Redwood forest in Northern California. It is pretty amazing but very dangerous too. Here in SoCal, these redwoods don’t grow as tall as those in Northern Cali and they are not as green either. But we can really appreciate this redwood grove right here.
We will say it is quite spiritual by just walking through the nice shade of this redwood grove.
Find some amazing mushrooms here.
Time to go to the wildness.
Our gym just closes again due to the Corona virus spike recently in SoCal. . We usually go to Sauna or Steam room for a heat treatment for the body in our gym. Since it s impossible to do it now. So we think it will be good for us to expose out body in the sun by hiking in the wildness.
It is hot hot, hot here. But we really enjoy hiking in the wildness.
Have a pose with these lovely California sunflowers.
Now we come back the end of the hike.
Hope you enjoy our hiking trip.
Sometimes, the best plan comes out of no plan. We planned another hiking trail in San Gabriel valley today and it was closed today. So we went to nearby Santa Fe Dam. We are not really keen for this area. Every time, we passed by on 605 Freeway, we always saw those hard-core cyclists riding by and they kind of beat down by the sun all the time since there are no trees and no any shades at all. But it turned out the other side of the dam is such a heaven.Continue reading
We started 4th of July celebration by hiking in the deep mountain in our neighborhood. And it’s fun to see all sorts of wild lives–squirrels, birds, rabbits, snake… Yes, that is a little bit scary. But overall we had a wonderful experience.Continue reading
The weekend hiking is always such a get-away for us particularly after we had hiked and camped so long in our backyard during this pandemic crisis. Well, it is also good to see people start to appreciate more nature and really focus on their well being. We have never seen the trails are packed with so many crowds before by the beaches, in the mountains and deep in the forests and parks. We human beings always feel good when we are close to nature. And we often find stunning colors and scenery that make us super excited when we explore nature.Continue reading
