Our Christmas Tabletop 2019
Hi, guys, happy Boxing Day. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day. In US, we are back to work today and in UK, I guess your guys may have a crazy shopping day today just like the way we are on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I did both and quite understand that hectic shopping experiences. If the physical shopping is not your thing( I know some of you may really enjoy that), I have something quite special for you today. But first thing first, I would love to show your our Christmas table because tabletop setting is always one of my favorites to do during the holidays. I just purely love all of the creative processes.
- The flowers and greenery for our Christmas tabletop—yes, they are garden-fresh and are all from our backyard. I used Juniper branches, lemons, lemon leaves, camellias, red Christmas berries. They really help make such a lush and festive centerpiece for our Christmas tabletop. I love fresh real plants, branches and flowers. The natural smell always make me feel we are hosting a party in an outdoor wonderland.
2. Vintage plates. It is quite special to use some vintage plates on Christmas day to show off our special dishes. I always appreciate the details on those vintage pieces.
3. We’ve got some special drinks in stunning crystal cocktail glasses for this year’s Christmas–keto egg-nog
4. Last but not the least, we had some of these cuteClassic Bluecrystal bear miniatures and they truly light up our Christmas dining-table.

KHK Designs’s Home for the Holidays 2019-2020—-Christmas Tabletop—featured with Pantone color of the year 2020 Classic Blue, Waterford Crystal wine glasses and candlesticks, Wedgwood dinnerware, GlobalViews accessories to create a festive modern classic tabletop.
So , here is our dining room for KHK Designs’ Home for the Holidays 2019-2020 featured with light lilac Chinoiserie wallpaper and design furnitures in a muted nutral color palette.
Inspired by Pantone color of the year 2020—Classic Blue, we would like to featured this dark blue shade on our holiday table-top. Opposite to the traditional green and red color palette, the blue color palette does deliver a super chic festive feel. And Waterford’s crystal glasses add a touch of glamor to the table. Meanwhile nutcrackers in navy blue and white uniforms talk to blue on Wedgwood’s fancy dinnerwares and Waterford’s dazlling blue holiday wine glasses. So the tables-cape we created for this year’s Christmas is elegant, sophisticated, chic and modern. A pop of red fresh flower centerpiece anchors the whole table and adds another happy and cheerful layer.

Well, Christmas is less than a week. Is your home ready for the holidays yet? If not, we totally understand because we all have a busy life. And to be honest, there’s really nothing to worry about. It is what it is. Here is a trick question you can ask yourself from now on to Christmas : what is one thing, one little thing that I can do to make my home festive—that little things can be just decluttering your yearly-around mail mess, re-styling your bookshelf, getting rid of tired decor on your coffee table, add some fresh greenery and citrus fruits on your display plates… So, from today, we are going to share some simple tips to make you home holiday ready. As you know, we, Californians, always love laid-back style. So, please read on.
If you don’t have that much energy to do the whole-house Christmas decoration, we know that can be a daunting job, why not focus on one area in your house to make it festive, sweet, warm and super cute. We always love to dress up a little Christmas corner–use a pop of color, an unique piece of artwork, a statement furniture, and of course a fresh Christmas tree and some very cute Christmas gift boxes. Then you may feel you don’t really need to travel anywhere for the holidays but just chill out at this soothing corner with a lot of holiday cheers.
So here is our little Christmas corner for this year. It’s modern, chic, mixing high-and-low with some traditional Christmas elements.
Chic—a fresh nutral color palette: light pink , taupe, brown and white to make all of Christmas things shine.
Organic—We contrast traditional checkered pattern Christmas packages with brown paper wrapped packages to bring in some organic vibes.
Natural—We always love everything natural including Christmas trees.
Festive—Color of red somehow always bring holiday cheers to people.

Behind-of-the-Scene Story for KHK Designs’ Home for Holidays 2019–Entry
Well, we know we all want a grand entry to feel special. But sometimes, we may not have that space to create that drama moment. If this is your case too, please continue to read our blog.
So, we have many clients who even have a big house but not for their entry. So for this year’s Home for Holiday entry, we focus on creating a translucent, cheerful modern entry with fashion-forward but muted color palette incorporating old and new, and artwork and books to achieve a youthful yet sophisticated look. It may be a compact space but layered with a big style.
Holiday season is always about a lot of drama, busyness, chaos. So we want to create an actually holiday get-away at home. Rather than the traditional saturated rich color palette, we use warm cream at the entry to set a quiet and elegant tone for the rest house. Yet the gilded finish on a Louis XVI chair and lavender pillows , the brass and silver accents on the book-covers add a dose of holiday festiveness. The clear acrylic side-table with a white sparkling Christmas on it is such a crisp contrast with that traditional Louis XVI chair. So there is a burst of youthful energy that gives you a hope something new is going to break through.

Behind-the-Scene Story for our Home for Holidays 2019—Family Room
Good morning. The rain is back to LA this morning. So it is fresh yet cloudy and a little dark. I guess the perfect spot we are propally all craving now is by a warm fireplace in a cozy festive living room. So today I am going to share our inspiration behind our Home for Holidays’ family room.
For this year’s holiday show-house, we want to create a cheerful yet serene atmosphere for a restful holiday seasons. So here comes with this neutral color palette—cream, muted Dutch pink, pearl white, charcoal brown with a pop of pink and light blue. This color palette is inviting, warm, easy to live with, yet still reflecting a touch of sophistication with silky sheen, brass accents, crystals, fresh roses. Also, we don’t want to create a too ornate holiday decor yet still love to keep some traditional elements of the old-school charm. After all, that is why people love Christmas. So, we mix and match classical and modern furniture to make this family room fresh, fashion-forward, relevant with full of holiday glamour.
Fresh Christmas greenery is another key design element to create that restfulness vibe. We all love to walk–through the woods during the holidays, don’t we? So rather than giving green junipers a heavy traditional Christmas tree decoration, we simply keep them the way they are and use pretty rustic potteries to hold these fresh natural trees. The contrast of pottery rusticness and other refined holiday decor elements in the room give eye a break. So the mood here is you may have a big family get-together and you may be alone. But whatever your holiday plan turns out to be, you always can celebrate or just chill out here.

Hi, guys, Christmas is just around the corner. I hope you got a lot of holiday decor inspiration from our blog yesterday —Crystals for Christmas.
So talking about holidays, one of the things, I feel super excited is setting up the table. I like to try different design theme—-it can be casual, for example, just pick up some greenery from your backyard garden, lite up some candles with your favorite scents :
Or a formal one with using all of your fine china and wine glasses to the maximum.

Pantone Classic Blue for Christmas Decor
Well, I hope you started Monday Blue in a beautiful mood. Somehow, Sunday and Monday are two of our busiest days in a week, a lot of chores. But I really cannot wait to share with you some chic blue-themed holiday decor. I was in my gym yesterday and then I saw this beautiful Christmas tree decorated with clear gift boxes with blue balls inside, it felt so fresh and chic and your know last Wednesday,Pantone just announced its color of the year 2020, so I am thinking I am going to do a blog about blue-themed Christmas decor today. It is always so cool to try something new for holidays rather than repeat year-after-year same Christmas decor. So, I have a lot of goodies here for you today, have a cup of herbal tea or a class of blue cocktail, sit back and enjoy!

As ThanksGiving is coming next Thursday, it does require a little bit energy to put up a good festive dinner for family and friends.
