Tour Chelsea Handler ‘s Warm and Contemporary Bel Air Home

Chelsea Handler’s Bel Air home has a good location with a beautiful lush hillside landscape. Chelsea Handler bought this home  10 years ago.  And  she took a lot of efforts to modernize this home, bright it up by using a lot of light colors, and at the same time, make it warm, inviting and  cozy enough to entertain her friends and family here.  We are totally obsessed with the breath-taking California vibe she has crafted  throughout the years–soft, bright, airy, modern and relaxing indoor-outdoor style. She  has a lot of artworks in her house either she purchased by herself over the years or the gifts from her friends. And she said she usually doesn’t have any idea about those artwork until several years later. Isn’t that cute?

We summarize several design highlights we really like about her home below. So get ready for a cup of coffee, tea or glass of wine, sit back and enjoy.

1. Replace some of the walls with floor-to-the-ceiling glass windowpanes to bring in more nature light to create that typical California indoor-and-outdoor vibe.

How Do Celebrities Design Their Home

At the beginning of the year, you are properly planning to renovate your home in 2020. So we gather some information here on how celebrities design their home. Design for Entertaining “I entertain for a living, and I entertain,” Jennifer Aniston told AD in 2010, on a tour of her Beverly Hills mansion. “The house has a rather glamorous, old-fashioned Hollywood quality,” she said at the time. “I can just imagine the Rat Pack stopping by; someone is playing the piano, and people are laughing in the next room.” Her home was meticulously designed with warm woods, shag rugs, and Asian influences like koi ponds and a cascading chandelier—and Aniston said she wanted the house to feel like “a big hug. People can get so distracted by static, I love the silence here.” Jennifer%2520Aniston.jpg Warm, Inviting just like an oil painting You can click here to read our blog on one of Aniston’s home. Pocket Door and Pink Glass Obsession “I have a pocket door obsession, and a pink glass obsession,” Tyler told AD in 2019, on a tour of her West Village townhouse, which she’s owned since 2001. After a gut renovation, Tyler installed many pocket sliding doors, to allow for privacy or more open, free-flowing spaces. And on the top master floor, she put in a unique skylight. “I decided I wanted to put in this pink tinted glass, and everyone thought I was crazy, but it gives such an amazing warm light to the space.” In the airy master bathroom, she put in sliding pocket doors with pink textured glass panes, combining her two favorite things. When Jenner took AD on a tour of her new Hidden Hills, California, home in 2019, it was a tranquil, spalike wash of whites, grays and blues, with plenty of plants and contemporary artwork. “My job is so hectic and chaotic. I’m always running a million miles an hour. I wanted my home to feel like a sanctuary, perfectly calm and peaceful,” she explained. “I love a really open floor plan because it makes me feel really zen and relaxed…and colors [like this] just make me feel so calm.” Kris_Jenner.jpg Tranquility was top of mind for Jenner as she designed her space.

8 Ways to Style Your Living Room Coffee Table

Don’t you agree with me that styling your own coffee table is one of the coolest things to do? Well, first of all, you’ve got chosen what sings to you–fresh flowers, books, boxes, sculptures, some emotional little objects from your grandma …etc. Then, you are able to just sit back and enjoy those lovely things. Just in case  styling is just not your thing, I have 8 tips here on how to style your living room  coffee table.

  1. Make sure you choose a cute coffee table before you style it. That will make your job more pleasant and easy.

2. Always be ready to break the traditional way–instead of just one coffee table, why not have several of them.  Having several coffee tables is a statement for your living room.coffee-table-styling-ideas-03-1507044492

3. Layer up on the height.

5 Reasons to Hire an Interior Designer

Although the end users are able to access tremendous home decor products nowadays, one of the challenges they have is how to put everything together beautifully and efficiently based on their personalities and tastes, specially when they are super busy with their own professions. That is why some of our clients approached us lately for design help after making a lot of mistakes by their own.  They finally figure out that hiring an interior designer for their projects  is actually a pretty good deal to help them achieve their goals in a cost-effective way. Here are 5 reasons to hire an interior designer:

  1. Save your money in a big way—avoid many costly  mistakes at the very beginning.
  2. Save your time without any doubt— a designer know how to plan a space professionally and they already has a trained sense of what needs to be done and when it needs to be done, and they’ll be able to anticipate any obstacles that may come up.  Therefore, your whole project will move faster in a streamlined way.
  3. Reduce your stress tremendously— try to do it by yourself, and you’re stuck juggling the many elements that go into the process. For example, it takes a lot of work and energy just to order right things and follow up them through.
  4. Access to  better resources and contacts.  Yes , you can access to tremendous products in the market but you don’t know who are good and who are not.  After browsing one website after another one, you may feel totally lost and confused.  Everyone knows it’s difficult to find good resources. But designers already work in the world of home improvement, so they’re going to have reliable connections that you may need. Hiring a designer will help you easily find an electrician, plumber, and/or contractor that you can trust. Designers also have access to tons of product and fabric that is not available to the general public. With these resources, an interior designer will create a space for you that looks collected and unique.
  5. Yes, you’re going to have wow factor. Interior designers are trained to think creatively and spatially and learn to see an overall picture that clients often cannot. Thinking outside of the box is what designers do on the regular. Not only will you get a good design sense, but you’ll also get an attention to detail from proper lighting and furniture placement to fabric choices and color palette and fixture options. A professional interior designer will create custom-designed pieces to make sure everything fits perfectly and is truly special to your home.   Plus, designers are constantly learn the new colors, new products, new  technologies, new trends which may solve your problems like a magic and yet are not  caught up by the mass market yet.

4 Ways to Add a Touch of Spring to Your Home

tuesdaylivingroom

It’s end of January and we know that Spring is coming soon, specially here in SoCal.  Isn’t that excited?! Maybe it’s time to bring some freshness into home.  There are 4 ways we did to fresh up this living room  with touch of Spring:

  1. Warm cream wall colors with pop of pink, purple, blush and yellow just like spring bloom.
  2. Have the crystal or glass decorative objects such as crystal chandelier, floor lamp and glass vases over the mantle to light up the room.
  3. Get rid of heavy drapery for winter time.
  4. Yes, fresh roses.
