We would think that decorating 20,000 square-foot estate should be a daunting work. LA-based decorator Lonni Paul recently just transformed such a big job for real estate developer Ted Foxman’s 20,000 square-foot Bel Air family home in a seemly-effortless way.
We mean, the house is big, just imagine it–overlooking the expansive Pacific Ocean, eight bedrooms, and 12 bathrooms, the property is filled with just about every amenity one could desire in a forever home. The first question popping on our mind is how she started her decorating job with such a colossal home. Paul is such a genius designer and is no stranger to design projects of this magnitude, as a number of her former clients have resided in areas like Saudi Arabia, where properties are typically on the larger scale. And it also comes down what the clients are really looking for -“We wanted a light, airy, positive energy to be everywhere—large spaces that felt cozy and comfortable, and something that was widely appealing to anyone,” Foxman says of his vision for the property. We think Paul did a fabulous job to reach her clients’ goals. When we go through the album of the finished project, we can feel thE causal relaxing California coziness with a high style. We specially like how she approached decoration for the powder room and dining room—“I wanted to have some elements of surprise; spaces that were a little more offbeat than the rest of the home, but still elegant in their own way,” Paul says.
We love this all black powder room featured with bird motif, black lacquered vanity and sparkling contemporary crystal wall scones. It is quiet yet elegant and still polished.
This navy-blue enveloped dining room is warm, inviting. Two of crystal chandeliers over-hanging the dining table dazzling the whole space add a prefect touch of glamour and luxury.
We also love kitchen, master bath , herss closet and outdoor patio. Let’s take a look :
We love how dark blue tiles on the backsplash and dining chair fabric contrast with white crisp kitchen cabinets and vintage range hood—it’s airy, light yet still with a vibe of an eat-in kitchen –cozy and intimate.A crystal chandelier and sleek built-in wall fireplace bring insophistication and warmth into this all white modern master bath. And we also love the large live plant in the shower.Who wouldn’t love this all-white elegant walk-in closet with a beautiful modern chandelier, all-glass storage cabinet and open shelves? The office with a great view and handsome furniture like these grey velvet club chairs. We love the bird statue on the polished side table.
Do people think this is how Californians live year round?

Ok, today, we are going to talk about Renée Zellweger’s stunning Baby Blue dress on the 77th Golden Globe. Obviously, she is not only one of the Best Actress but also one of the best dressed.
Renée Zellweger Wears Striking Baby Blue Strapless Gown on the Golden Globes Red Carpet
This is Zellweger’s fourth Golden Globe win. She won her first Golden Globe in 2001 for her rule in “Nurse Betty.” The next came in 2003 for “Chicago,” followed by 2004 for “Cold Mountain.”
The 47-year-old actress, whose portrayal of Judy Garland in Rupert Goold’s biopic, arrived at the 2020 Golden Globes in a strapless baby blue custom-made Armani Privé gown, featuring a thigh-high slit and crystal-embroidered piping. Zellweger pulled her blonde hair back in a loose updo and wore a soft pink lipstick. She accessorized with matching Jimmy Choo pumps and a gold cuff. Renée completed her outfit with a David Webb gold and diamond bracelet.
She does look stunning in that baby blue gown. So the look is sleek, modern, chic yet classic at the same time. Our take-aways to create Renee’s timeless modern classic look:
Minimalism yet elegant form
Yes, ice blue please,
A touch of glamor—her gold bracelet and crystal pipings on her blue gown
Have something loose( her loose hair style) to relax the overall look.

Then, about a week ago, Sherwin Williams announced its 2020 color o the year— Naval SW 6244.
Naval is beyond blue and represents calmness of ocean and evening sky.
Naval is a serene shade with a hint of opulence, it works well with polished marble, gleaming metals, soft leather and sophisticated patterns.
I usually started my Monday morning super earlier and love to start my week by searching inspiration from all aspects of life : fashion, hospitality, art, natural… By doing so, it usually drives away any possible Monday Blue. Although those images I chose below appears un-relevant to each other, they somehow connect with each other either in large scales, fresh color palettes, extranet forms, or unexpected pairing.
unexpected pairing of stripe and abstract create a visual drama
cute mysterious
green and mint–a fresh pairing starting from this Fall.
Good morning! How’s your Sunday going so far? I woke up earlier and watered my garden first. I feel it is such a bless for me to enjoy my garden in the morning. I love to observe how morning sun light shines through the greeneries with a little cute dew drops. It is such a romantic moment for me. What’s your Sunday mood? what color are you in mood for today?
We visited an art installation yesterday and it is about colorful rolling-hill landscape in Ireland. I’ve never been to Ireland and I guess people there must be very happy. You know that is true since we all have a good time on St. Patric’s Day. so here is my sunday color block mood-board. Enjoy!
stripe on stripe
Do you agree with me that stripe is classical summer pattern.
Happy Friday! I have worked on specifying dimmer- able LEDs for the whole week and it took a lot of time to communicate back -and- forth with vendors for so many details. Now I feel I need a break to see some beautiful rooms, rooms that use quite unique color schemes, rooms that are eye candy for a Friday retreat. Are you ready? Here we go:
Love, love, love this color palette: white-on-white, grey and light wood-tones–modern yet classic.
It’s grey and white color scheme again. But I like pop of violet color on the artworks. Mix-and-match of furniture in this living room space is quite interesting too.
Grey-and-white color palette with pop of blue on the artworks. Brass, fresh flowers and antiques add a touch of warmth and elegance to this modern living room.
Grey–white-and-black color palette with pop of orange on the vintage console table, piping on the chair make the space edgy yet super sophisticated.
Silver-blue-black color scheme makes this living space very cool and edgy. Yet the velvet and mirror wall , vintage art pieces adds interests, depth and warmth.
A touch of blue and brass with a beautiful view in this light-filled high-rising living room make it inviting, playful and up-scale.
Now we got some colors. But I love that muted creamy wall by the fire-place side with a pale pinkish under-tone.
Fashion icon, socialite, and artist and interior designer Gloria Vanderbilt has died at the age of 95. Inspired by her quote on home decor :”Decorating is autobiography,” and quote on art:”Art brings a message into a room. It should make us perceive in a new way—either through color, form or narrative content—something we had not perceived before. And perhaps reveal something to you about yourself.”, today, I would like to share some of my favorite interiors by her and, of course her styles:
Chic and classical
A women living by her own term.
Elegant and Timeless
a well-lived life
a statement on sophitication
Anderson Cooper, Wyatt Cooper, Carter Cooper and Gloria Vanderbilt in their Manhattan apartment, June 1972. A pink checkered sofa set a happy and relaxing tone for a happy family.
Gloria Vanderbilt in her dressing room–a vivid chic boho style
Bedroom of Gloria Vanderbilt, 1970–it requires a lot of savvy skills and good eye on art to create such a grand pattern-on-pattern room.
Dining room in the Long Island home of Gloria Vanderbilt and Wyatt Cooper–Modern, yet classic
Gloria Vanderbilt sits in her Manhattan living room–a large floor portrait makes such a statement.
Like every creative person, throughout the years, she was constantly changing, painting, embellishing, and reconfiguring her houses in New York City and Long Island. It was like therapy for her from time to time. Visit her instagram to see her legendary life
Finally, rain stops and sun is out. And most importantly, the weather is finally getting warm up to 70 degree in Los Angeles. I know it has been a weird cold for a very long time since last Nov. I think I prefer the warmer weather with a lot sunshines. Who wouldn’t?
Well, it is March and spring is just around the corner and Easter is coming soon. I just cannot wait to put up a beautiful outdoor tabletop for entertaining with some fresh color palettes and romantic components. What about you?
So, I decided to go through some photos and videos from the events we have been to recently for inspiration. Then I found this video I shot—I wish I could have done it better. Maybe next time. But the whole set-up, organic components, the sun-lights, crystals and yummy cookies in pastel colors and of course fresh flower pedals really talk to me. I love how they have a large wood branch as a center piece with elegant crystal sculptures scattering around. The contrast between organic elements and high-polished items creates such a beautiful , moody, refined yet relaxed and casual atmosphere. And fresh flower pedals all over the table are just such a romantic touch. It’s a dream afternoon.
I have been to some events lately and these fine china, elegant glasswares, gorgeous floral arrangements, romantic candles and fresh creations truly inspired me. I hope they will also inspire you for your next holiday party or wedding planning. After all, life is about beautiful memories we craft thoughtout years.
