Holiday 2020 Room Design Ideas–Reading Room Vignette

In the year of 2020, we want to go a little bit extra bold in our holiday show-house design. The reason is simple that we are all so desperate to go on a journey of adventure after we have stayed in our home for so long. As we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel( yes, several of vaccines for COVID-19 are coming), let’s still practice all of the safe social manners. And rather, let’s play a little bit of magic at home. In this year’s holiday show-house, we introduced some bold patterns such as leopard prints and folks art. We put things that don’t seem belong to each other together to create fun, playful and the one-of-the-kind holiday decor that helps express ourselves with some cheers and dreams in this special moment.

Tour a Comfortable and Glamorous Modern Home in Melbourne

We came across this Melbourne apartment today and were impressed by its museum-like space artfully filled with bold furniture and interesting objects. What even amazing is that this apartment is actually not that big but the designer himself curated such a sophisticated interior that everyone is going to fall in love with.

Living Room

Overall, this is a quite clean-line modern home. However, the orange brown low-profile velvet sofa is warm and inviting while the brass mushroom table lamp brings in a touch of glamor. We love the coffee-table books on the cocktail table. Artworks are quite 70s style.

Tour a Maximalism Coffeehouse in SoHo

Maximalism may start to thrive in residential design but for restaurant and hospitality design, we more often still see a lot of mid-century and minimalism design. Today, we are going to tour an over-the-top coffeehouse, from the wallpaper to the trims to the rich jewel colors, we just cannot get enough of it. Under the current pandemic crisis, we believe more is more and more. By touring this And maximalism coffee house, you may be inspired to use some of its decor ideas for your own home.

Tour A Relaxing Yet Sophisticated Town House in Upper East

We are first attracted by this house because of its color scheme and then the cool textiles and iconic furniture. The town house is owned by textile scion Ashley Stark Kenner and her husband Nick, founder and CEO of Just Salad. The landmarked 19th-century building had a lot going for it—generous dimensions, a deep backyard, and, a rarity among town houses, lots of light. But at their first meeting with New York–based Lichten Architects, talk quickly shifted to “gut renovation.” Here are our favorites after the renovation.

Tour a Seaside Relaxing Connecticut Retreat

The first thing we are attracted to a home often is its color palette, something that pleases our eye. Then, what makes us pause and start to really study each space is how it is layered up by leveraging texture, lighting, shadow,..etc. It is in the middle of the week , we would like to give you a tour to a seaside Connecticut retreat with a relaxing meditation room and soothing spa. Here are our favorites.

Tour a Minimalism Apartment in Chicago

Minimalism doesn’t need to be stark and cold. By adding textures, vintage pieces and a little subtle warm color tones, a minimalism home can be elegant, inviting and warm. This is why we fall in love with a chic Chicago apartment designed by Kara Mann. Here are some of our favorite highlights.

Tour An Arizona Home With Bold And Dramatic Accents

It is a beginning of a new week. We thought it might be a good idea to share a home with colors, something that excites us and pleases our eyes.

We are often fascinated how designer Jamie Drake uses colors in his work—layered, rich, romantic, fashion-forward, elegant and simply beautiful. Not surprisingly, when he and his partner Caleb Anderson designed this second home for their long-time client in Arizona, color and texture plays such an important role. What surprised Drake and Anderson is their client’s taste has evolved and more attracted to bold and vibrant colors, which is different from how he wanted the home to be elegant before. here are our favorite highlights:

Tour An Edgy and Elegant NYC Apartment

Home is the place where we want to feel warm, inviting and relaxing. And a home can be edgy and elegant at the same time. This NYC apartment is proof. Here are highlights of our favorite.

Entry

We love how the antique mirrored walls offset with a glossy pink console cabinet at the entry. It is glamorous, youthful yet grounded and sophisticated.
