The weekend hiking is always such a get-away for us particularly after we had hiked and camped so long in our backyard during this pandemic crisis. Well, it is also good to see people start to appreciate more nature and really focus on their well being. We have never seen the trails are packed with so many crowds before by the beaches, in the mountains and deep in the forests and parks. We human beings always feel good when we are close to nature. And we often find stunning colors and scenery that make us super excited when we explore nature.
We are all pleased to see a clouds of super relaxed and comfy cotton bedding in a dreamy bedroom. Bedding often serves as the statement piece around which an entire bedroom is designed. But there’s a lot more to consider about bedding than just its thread count thanks to people’s more awareness of their own wellness nowadays. We have started to see organic bedding has been increasing in popularity over the past decade.
We were on a Zoom meeting about color this morning. The guest speakers for the discussion panel are renown designers either from fashion or interior design industry. It is interesting to see how they react so differently to different colors. So the conclusion here is that color is a very personal thing and is all about the contexts. Same is true for home styles. What really speaks to you matters the most. Our mission here is to share as many different styles as we can, styles that inspire us and touch our heart. Often, we also give your suggestions on how to achieve these looks by our handpicked products and tips. One of the strong trends we see over this pandemic crisis is that people are eager to create a refugee that is organic, quiet and layered. So today, we are going to take you to this amazing home tour—an organic and modern manse with a romantic French influence. This is a five-bedroom manse in McLean, Virginia. This home is traditional and French-influenced outside while having an organic and modern feel inside. The home is owned by NHL star T.J.and his wife Lauren Oshie. We are impressed by how the design team transformed this 1980s Georgian-style home with high glamor and edge while keeping its classical bone. The house was originally designed by local architect Paul Turney and built to such a high level. So the design team decided just to add new flooring and windows with larger panes, an iron stair rail in lieu of a more traditional wooden version, and a stone surround for the front door rather than tearing down the original structure. Other changes include opening up the kitchen and incorporating an adjacent family room, reconfiguring the master bathroom and adding a covered back patio for easier outdoor living. Here are highlights of our favorite spaces. Let’s take a tour together.
