Chelsea Handler’s Bel Air home has a good location with a beautiful lush hillside landscape. Chelsea Handler bought this home 10 years ago. And she took a lot of efforts to modernize this home, bright it up by using a lot of light colors, and at the same time, make it warm, inviting and cozy enough to entertain her friends and family here. We are totally obsessed with the breath-taking California vibe she has crafted throughout the years–soft, bright, airy, modern and relaxing indoor-outdoor style. She has a lot of artworks in her house either she purchased by herself over the years or the gifts from her friends. And she said she usually doesn’t have any idea about those artwork until several years later. Isn’t that cute?
We summarize several design highlights we really like about her home below. So get ready for a cup of coffee, tea or glass of wine, sit back and enjoy.
1. Replace some of the walls with floor-to-the-ceiling glass windowpanes to bring in more nature light to create that typical California indoor-and-outdoor vibe.
Thom Filicia is best known for an Emmy Award–winning television personality on shows like the original 2003 Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and 2018’s Get a Room with Carson & Thom, both on Bravo. Eight years ago, Filicia decided to sell the SoHo apartment where he had resided for a decade and move to a neighborhood with a bit more breathing room. A floor-through unit in a modern building designed by the South African architect Lindy Roy caught his eye, thanks to a layout with a strong separation between social and personal spaces. After spending four months in construction redoing floors, bathrooms, lights, and counters, Filicia set about decorating the 1,800-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment. The rooms include a mix of his own pieces, both from his Thom Filicia Home Collection and his to-the-trade New York showroom Sedgwick & Brattle, along with vintage furnishings and the artwork he has collected over the years. “I’m a single guy, so I wanted it to be timely and timeless, sophisticated yet inviting,” he explains, adding that he loves to entertain.

The concert was pretty awesome. The star-studded benefit featured at-home performances by the likes of Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, Dave Grohl and more. Tim McGraw, Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong and Sam Smith also performed, while Demi Lovato, Lizzo and Lady Gaga made special appearances during the evening encouraging fans with messages of hope and positivity.
For us, we are also very excited to see a little bit how these celebrities live and what their living rooms look like. Read on to see our 9 takeaways on how these Celebrities’ live.
1. The navy blue sofas are the most popular ones in these celebrities home.
Alicia Keys’ mid-century navy blue tufted sectional is chic, comfy and stylish. An orange pillow just adds a perfect pop of color. The navy blue in the artwork over the sectional and her piano continue the blue theme. Then a wood oval mid century modern coffee-table breaks the navy blue theme and let the eye take a rest.Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong’s super comfy and plush navy blue sofa in his home studio. We love the same color patterned pillows on his sofa.

While today’s baths are designed to promote a soothing, wellness-inspired feeling, organization and technology remain strong influences, particularly in bath accessories. Clean, clutter-free spaces are in high demand, which makes clever storage essential, while technology shows up in everything from charging stations and smart mirrors to streaming music.
Below are some of the hottest trends in bath accessories right now.
Organization continues to be a key trend, with growing demand for accessories that enhance storage for a wide variety of products. Click each image below for product details.
Wash, Dry, Decorate No linen closet? No problem. Keep your towels tidy with this elegant rack that hangs right on the wall. Crafted from sustainably sourced black American walnut and hand-finished with natural oils and wax, it lets you store your towels using wall space that might otherwise go empty. And if you are lucky enough to have a closet or cupboard in your bathroom, hey, now you have more room for face masks, serums, and other self-care goodies. You’re welcome. Handmade in Portland, Oregon.
Fair to Partly Cloudy Rain or shine, keep your bathroom stocked in distinctive style with this wall-mounted toilet paper “cloud.” Install the concrete cartoon outline to the wall (with included hardware) and complete the cloud formation with a variable stack of 8+ rolls of tissue. French designer Bertrand Jayr enjoys making objects “talk” through visual puns, and this design–part storage solution and part imaginative wall art–seems to speak of the softness obsession surrounding bathroom tissue by likening it to fluffy cumulonimbus billows. Made in China.
It’s 7 a.m., your hair’s dripping wet, and you’re running late. The last thing you have time for is rummaging through a drawer to find the blow dryer–only to then have to untangle a knotted cord. Michael McNeil’s steel hair care holder puts your dryer, curling iron, and flat iron elegantly on display, so no more morning mayhem. (At least as far as your locks are concerned.)
Customized storage continues to be in high demand, with flexible drawers and compartments that can be configured for everything from make up and medicine to towels and grooming appliances. Click each image below for product details.
Finishes are getting warmer, while mixed finishes are also trending in both bath faucets and accessories; matte black remains a popular choice, and white is also seeing interest, often paired with shades of warm gold, rose gold or brushed brass. Click each image below for product details.
Charging stations have found their way into the bath, as consumers who take their phones everywhere want charging access throughout the home. Hide-away outlets are also becoming a highly desired bath addition with homeowners enjoying the convenience of having a hair dryer or flat iron that can be used, then tucked out of sight in a drawer with its own hidden outlet. Music is the new hot bath accessory, with streaming music the latest must-have for those who want a spa-like space where they can relax and rejuvenate while enjoying their favorite play list. Likewise, smart mirrors add a bit of tech for those who want to enjoy catching up on the news while getting ready for the day.
Clean and clutter free looks remain on trend, which means accessories from grab bars to towel racks and paper holders are often designed to blend seamlessly into the overall decor. However, some accessories are being used as a focal point, including striking, artistically designed mirrors, self-contained plant gardens that thrive in shower steam and art pieces that bring a personal touch to the space. In the middle of the week, we all look for a little bit inspiration to carry on. We came across designer Lilse McKenna’ New York apartment and truly amazed by how she re-arranged the overall layout to maximize storage while still keeping a high style. Let’s take a look at her NYC apartment home together.
1. A balanced color palette.
The red vintage velvet sofa is aN original piece. We are glad that Lilse still keeps the way it is. And she balanced the bright red color with a lot of blue and white in this room. By doing so, she is not only able to make the room feel bright and airy, but also able to showcase the fabulous artwork on the wall and patterned fabric on the throw pillows, lamp shades and ottoman cover as well.
With closing down of state and county parks, beach fronts in California , once again, we will have to spend more time in our home. The human nature is that the longer you stay in one place, the more you start to focus on every details. And that may drive you crazy. Our experience is that maybe it is time for you to do something. Rather than just staring at something that is not pleasing to the eye, do something about it–de-cluttering, re-organizing and creating something beautiful. So at the end of the day, you can at least take a break and enjoy your labor fruits. Read on to learn how bring more fun to your family room in style.
1. Take advantage of your view if you are lucky to have one.
Please, please free up your space in front of your windows or your patio door if you happen to have a view of a beautiful garden, a meadow, magical mountains, breath-taking ocean or deep green forest. In the photo above, we love how the blue velvet sofa sits against a wall and oversees the outdoor view. The trick here is those two striped upholstered X-benches. They will not block your outdoor views. Rather, they provide flexible seating options.

2. Have a corner table setup
One of benefits of having a corner table-set up in your family room is that it is able to use the dead space in the corner and creates a new activity zone (such as game table)for the whole family. You know we all have that feeling when we sit around a table in Starbucks and we intend to be able to focus on our reading or our work although it is pretty noisy in the surroundings. And fun part is that you can add your own decor style and personality.
If you are just like us and read too much news on development of COVID-19, it is time to take a break and enjoy something that is pleasing to the eye. We came across some amazing fashion pictures over the week and chose some of them to share on our blog today. The reason we chose the following photos because they make us feel so fresh in the way how they combine unexpected colors together and how they put the different styles of pieces together. The USNS comfort (T-AH-20) is the world’s biggest hospital ship and it’s currently heading to the New York harbor where it’s intended to free up hospital beds in the greater new York region .The US Navy’s mammoth floating hospital USNS Comfort was sent to New York after 9/11. The idea is that this ship, which hosts 1,000 beds, 12 operating rooms and up to 1,200 doctors, nurses and medical specialists, will be taking on non-coronavirus patients, allowing hospitals to focus on the most critical ones suffering from the virus.
In more recent years, she was used during Hurricane Maria and for the Venezuelan refugee crisis.

The huge vessel boasts one of the largest trauma facilities in the United States, complete with four functioning X-Ray machines, a CAT Scan unit, a full dental suite, optometry lens laboratory, physical therapy center, pharmacy, angiography suite and two oxygen-producing plants. It is not only a floating hospital, it’s a floating hospital that is likely better equipped than the brick and mortar one in your town.
Although the Comfort, and its sister ship that serves as the class’ namesake, the Mercy, are U.S. Navy ships, they come equipped with no offensive capabilities whatsoever, and exist solely to provide care to those in need on a level unrivaled by any other expeditionary organization. The vessel began its life in 1976 as a San-Clemente class oil tanker named the SS Rose City. It was converted and renamed in a ceremony on December 1st of 1987, when it began its new life in support of humanitarian operations the world over.
