7 Steps to Create a Timeless Kitchen

#TBTThursday !  Here is the kitchen we renovated 5 years ago.  I am still in love with it deeply today. We totally changed the overal layout.

  1. the minimalism warm cherry cabinetry style with long pulls.
  2. The black trims on the top and bottom of the cabinets lend a hand of a cool feeling in this kitchen while balancing off the warm tone on the cabinetry.
  3. Modern multi-color glass tiles add a touch of playfulness and bring life to this kitchen.
  4. The metal-framed glass doors are another cool element in the space.
  5. Black leather granite countertop is a practical choice yet looks very classic.
  6. Under and over-cabinet lighting for task and mood.
  7. The curved island makes access to the kitchen much easier and serves as a large prep station and bar.

Kitchen Island

LEI'S KITCHEN

It’s always more fun when you have a big island in your kitchen.  It can be both an awesome workstation and a bar where friends and guests hang out.  To make your kitchen more stylish, it is always a big plus to choose some good-quality and functional bar stools.  It took us a while to find the right bar stools for the client.  So we just designed and customized the chairs for her.  The bar stools are swivel with embodied silk in the back and blue tufted velvet in the front.  When the family  is sitting by the island,  they are able to turn around to watch TV or join the conversations in the family room.  They are so happy with this design concept.

Breakfast Nook Makeover

We did this house several years ago and just made some fresh-up recently.  The big change is the drapery.  This green silky drapery with Chinoiserie cornice is actually talking to the current silk area rug and the main color scheme in the dining room and living room.   I am never a big fan for a cookie-cutter brownish kitchen.  By installing this long elegant drapery and some chinoiserie decor and a modern oversized chandelier over the breakfast dining table, we really make the space brighter, much bigger, airy and organized with a touch of elegance.  Although it is still traditional, it is very chic and fresh.
