I am always attracted to neutral rugs such as white and cream since they can complete any sophisticated interiors and add a touch of quiet elegance to these rooms.

Hi, guys, I hope your new week started with a positive tune. As usual, I love to share some rooms that I came across over the weekend. The reason I share them here is not only because they are beautiful but also they are quite unique with full of good ideas and personality. Often, the rooms that touch our hearts are not the rooms that are highly polished, but rather approachable yet with some surprises.
Love this cream-on-cream neutral color palette. The low-back sectional with performance fabric here is comfy, practical yet chic and stylish. The chandelier hanging over the coffee table here is quite quirky and playful. The blush and orange patterns on the throws add a touch of softness.A Frenchy Living Room Full of Match-and -mixingS from Different Periods.I love the contrast between the classical chinoiserie wallpaper with the abstract artwork. Also an IKEA lime color chair truly shows off the master skills of mixing high and low here.

One of the simple and easy way to refresh your living space is to change your sofa throw pillows. Somehow, piles of pillows with unique design on your sofa always make your living space homy, cozy and elegant. As you know, design is all in the details. Pillow insert materials, trims, pipings and tassels on pillow design all make a huge difference on the overall looking.
For the project we did in San Gabriel valley, we chose decorative pillows based on the colors and patterns of client’s existing Morocan-style rug.

Happy Friday! I have worked on specifying dimmer- able LEDs for the whole week and it took a lot of time to communicate back -and- forth with vendors for so many details. Now I feel I need a break to see some beautiful rooms, rooms that use quite unique color schemes, rooms that are eye candy for a Friday retreat. Are you ready? Here we go:
Love, love, love this color palette: white-on-white, grey and light wood-tones–modern yet classic. It’s grey and white color scheme again. But I like pop of violet color on the artworks. Brass, fresh flowers and antiques add a touch of warmth and elegance to this modern living room.Grey–white-and-black color palette with pop of orange on the vintage console table, piping on the chair make the space edgy yet super sophisticated. Silver-blue-black color scheme makes this living space very cool and edgy. Yet the velvet and mirror wall , vintage art pieces adds interests, depth and warmth.A touch of blue and brass with a beautiful view in this light-filled high-rising living room make it inviting, playful and up-scale.Now we got some colors. Have you ever had this situation: you want to hang a chandelier in your living room, but there is a TV. You are concerned that either a chandelier will block the view or there will be glares when you are watching TV. Therefore, your living room looks forever unfinished without proper lighting design. I totally get you since we have several clients are just like that.
First of all, I am always a big believer that a chandelier will definitely add drama and warmth in your living room. So my suggestion is please be open-minded and see what can be done to achieve functionality and great aesthetic at the same time.
So, let’s take a look at some design out there:
Well, now you feel it may be ok to hang a chandelier in the living room with TV. And those chandeliers do make living rooms homy, cozy and elegant. If you like modern home design and not a hard core of minimalism, there are 3 tips to achieve the goal since an extra layer particularly for a modern home design always does the trick.
Always check out the overall height of chandelier and always go for the ones with adjustable heights. You even can choose the ceiling-mount fixtures.
drama yet clean
2. Choose the chandelier that either add personality or nicely blends in the surroundings. It is just like the artwork in the air.
please the eye
3. Install dimmer for your chandelier to avoid glares when you watch TV.
It’s Tuesday house tour time. We will take a look inside designer Ralph Lauren’s Bedford, New York house, Colorado ranch, and Manhattan office. Lauren is the first fashion designer to offer a comprehensive home-furnishings line, which he crafts around themed lifestyle collections.
At Lauren’s residence in Bedford, New York, a 19th-century Dutch chandelier presides over the entrance hall. Love the airy and sophisticated vibes at the entry. In the living room, matching 19th-century Louis XV–style wing chairs flank an 18th-century Chinese carved low table; pillows made from antique textiles accent the sofa, and the throw in the foreground is a 19th-century Kashmiri paisley. The space is full collection of art, hand-crafted objects, fine home goods…Ralph Lauren Home fabrics cover the sofa and pillows in the poolhouse, which features 16th-century Belgian pine ceiling beams and a 17th-century French limestone mantel; the lamps are made from 18th-century Chinese vessels. I love the open and tranquil feel in this room. And of course, blue-and-whites.The breakfast room’s tableware is by Ralph Lauren Home, as are the fabrics used for the tablecloth and the cushions on the 19th-century English armchairs; the painting is 17th-century Dutch. This is one of my rooms. I always have a thing with layered table-cloth—it’s elegant, relaxing and fun.A vintage French bistro mirror hangs above the antique pedestal sink in the poolhouse bath. Love this vintage mirror with a clean–line modern flair.A circa-1774 portrait by Pompeo Girolamo Batoni is displayed between the library’s French doors, which are curtained with a Ralph Lauren Home velvet; the two-arm Argand lamp is 19th century, and the pillows are made of antique fabrics. This is truly Lauren’s signature style—dark and rich color palettes, brass elements, wood panelings, checkered fabric…
