We modernized this traditional dining room with steel gray, photograph art and a large white sculptural vase. The brass vase with roses add a touch of glam to the space. Two steel buffet lamps bring in subtle formality.

Spring is about a new beginning . Just think about how we feel when we see the spring blooms in nature after a long cold winter. We feel exciting, happy and cheerful! So, it is the time to bring in that excitment to our home to boost our mood and enhance our life style, specially after we have been experiencing such a long long pandemic and home is truely our ultimate sanctuary. Today we are going to reveal how we refresh a rather all-neutral family room.
Although this is a luxury tone-on-tone family room featuring silk drapes, high-end velvet custom extra long sofa and a wool area rug, we feel the room needs some love and excitement. What we did is to add geometric and floral pillows to give this all brownish space a zest. Green on the pillows echoes the greenery in the garden outside and bring in a piece of nature indoor. This family room has a traditional vibe. The custom sofa has a classical camel back. So, the geometric pattern on the pillows modernizes the space. The black-and-whte sculptures on the coffee table further emphasize the modernity of the space. We paired the geometric pillows with the floral pillows. That way, our eye will not feel tired. Plus, who wouldn’t want to have a piece of spring garden indoor? The pink bowl on the coffee table has an organic form and picks up the pink color on the floral pillow . Pink also gives this all-neutral space a soft pop of color.
As for the coffee table, we chose this modern classical honey wood table with the elegant light champagne metal tapered legs. We love the two-tier table configuration. It is not only functionl but also add a visual interest to the room. It elevates family room with a touch of glam. We love the craftsmanshipand the details on this coffee table.

We have developed an appetite for tone-on-tone neutral palettes in the past year. We firmly believe that all these neutrals help create a soothing and relaxing home—the ultimate sanctuary for most of us under the current situation. We find out that if we do it right, the tone-on-tone color scheme will make home interiors high style and timeless. The challenge is often on how to create a monochromatic home that has a depth, dimensions and warmth. We came across this urban Chicago home and fell in love with its aesthetic. Yes, it has varied shades of grays and subtle pops of jewel tones— a perfect case study for a monochromatic home that is fresh, clean, modern yet elegant and sophiticated.
The entry is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Cape May Cobblestone which sets the tone of a crisp, monochromatic palette for the rest of the home. The gray leather on the seats add textures while the dark brown wood flooring evokes a warm feeling. The brass details on the console lamp and the mirror above elevate the entry with a touch of glam. And of course, the loose floral arrangement enlivens the space. You can click here for more ideas on entry design.
We had spent our Saturday for a wildness Easter picnic during our hiking trip. Sunday, we hosted our own Easter party at home after a long run. Here are some of our photos from yesterday’s Easter tablescape.
We had to get up earlier and started to set up the Easter table because of the packed schedule of the day. The morning sunshine was very soft and it is a a good lighting to take some shots. The color scheme of this year’s Easter tablescape is light blush, oatmeal, white and pops pink, red and gold.
French linen is always preferred for our tablescape thanks to its relaxing and casual vibe.
We use a pink hydrangea as a center piece for the classical Easter pastels.

Breezy Materials Rattan, Cane, and Woven Leather Looks
Nature always makes us feel good, happy and relaxing. In the uncertain time, we more lean to nature. So the natural materials like rattan, cane and woven leather are all over the social media channels. The trend started last year from fashion, and we will see it will play even bigger this year. This spring , tight weaves step aside for large-scale styles. Look for this trend in rattan, cane, and woven leather. The good thing about these breezy natural materials, they are super versatile and can be easily blend in any type of home decor.
We have actually developed an appetite for the tonal neutral interiors as we have been going through the whole pandemic thing since last year, particularly those interiors with a lot of natural light. Those homes are truly heavenly sanctuaries that allow us to wind down, relax and rejuvenate. So, when we came across landscaping architect Perry Guillot’s Southampton escape on AD, we feel the similar verve and fell in love with this serene escape–a playhouse with a garden that is inspired by nothing short of cosmos and has tonal white stucco walls. Guillot is known for the artfully restrained gardens he has created for such clients as Tory Burch, Aerin Lauder, and Reed and Delphine Krakoff.
The clipped hollies embrace the main entrance of the playhouse. It looks like the sky is on the earth.
We love how the lush textured sprawling plants contrast with the clean-lined white house.
Don’t know where to start for your home automation? The easiest path to home automation is to convert your existing lights and turn-on/off devices into smart devices by adding relatively inexpensive smart plugs. Simply plug in a smart plug into a socket and then plug in a lamp, fan, air humidifier, air purifier, or other device into the smart plug. For those of you with an iPhone, you can set up these devices with HomeKit by simply bringing up the Home app and scan in the code for the device.
There are many options in the market place. There are smart plugs that connect with Bluetooth or Thread as wells as WiFi. Of course, there are few that connect with a bridge.
For situations where you also would like to have a remote control, the iHome iSP8 with Remote Control will work perfectly. Want to control outdoor lights or xmas lights? There are even outdoor smart plugs.
If you are an iPhone user, then you should consider smart plugs that support HomeKit. Likewise, if you are an Android user, you should consider smart plugs that support Google Assistant. For Amazon Echo users, you need smart plugs that support Amazon Alexa.
Here are few smart plugs to get you started. These all support HomeKit.
Ways Dishware has developed a renewed kind of cultural cachet and social media feeds everwhere are filled with eye-cathing tablescapes and place settings thanks to our spending more time at home. Suddenly, china was no longer something registered for before a wedding or reluctantly inherited from Granny—it had become an extension of your outfit, part of one’s personal style. It seems that a lot of stlye icons are full-on obsessed with their dishes.
But one sad thing about the fine china is that people usually store them away in the cupboard when it is out of holiday season and there is no party around. As time goes by, you may forget they are there. So these beauiful plates sit somewhere unseen , unused and unappreciated. But in the reality, these beauiful plates can actually transform your home magically thanks to their colors, textures, design patterns and shapes. Today we are going to share 5 fresh ways to to display your china in your everyday’s life.
