We have just designed a series of rooms with different themes to celebrate our sanctuary and refugee that nurture and calm us at this current pandemic crisis. We want to stay positive to find where joys are at home . For the design below, this is a modern glamorous living room with muted blush wall paints. It is airy, open and soft. The patterns and pops of color on the pillows bring us a summer resort cheer. We mix and match contemporary pieces with classical details to create a layered look with a touch of sophistication. We sure have talked a lot about modern farm house style since the beginning of this year. So far, we still cannot get over it thanks to the airy, light-filled vibe, crisp white paints , warm muted different shades of gray, green, blush, natural elements such as rattern furnishings and relaxing upholstered sofas. What’s more interesting is the way how today’s modern farm houses mix and match different styles to make the spaces timeless.
Today we will take you to tour a modern farm house in Arizona. We love the overall vibe of this house—bright, clean, crisp, stream-lined yet warm, grounded and livable. Here are the highlights of our favorite spaces.
Our recent blogs have featured homes with a light and airy vibe. Today, we decide to go to a different style—a home with a fashionable flair by using colors. Why not? Color is a therapy that heal us and make us feel good. We have included color in one of principles of wellness at home . Here are the highlights of our favorite spaces.
From the entry, you probably won’t tell this is going be a colorful home. Instead a large silver artwork by Anselm Reyle and a geometric black console and dark brown round mirror make a statement by forms and rather keep the color palette simple and neutral. We can feel a very masculine energy here.
The neutral palette continues in the living room. But here, two of white curved sofa create a very inviting, cozy and elegant atmosphere here. We feel the feminine energy here. We love how chic and stylish side tables and ottoman with jewel-tone colors just casually sit around those two of the curved white sofa . They are just like beautiful and adorable accessories for this home.
Now color starts to play in this family library. The blue color here is exciting yet very calming too. The colors on walls and furniture pull out the color palette from an abstract artwork atop the fireplace to grantee a harmonious and cohesive feel even though bold colors are applied in this space.
We love this warm pink on two of these reading settees.
A black bar cabinet and a black vase on top of is understate yet stylish and also well uses the niche space here.
This blue wall by the dining area is opposite the above blue wall. So the key to use a bold color still keeping a balanced and harmonious feel is to repeat the color in a symmetric way. Those hanging little pendants above the dining table are just like jewels for this home. The warm brown on the velvet dining chairs is inviting and nicely contrasts with and well balances off the blue on the walls here.
This swing bed is a great idea when you have a limited space but still want to have some fun.
Hope you enjoy the tour and you can visit the rest of home by clicking here.

Home in West Coast is all about light, airy and coziness. A pristine loft apartment with soaring ceilings and monumental windows in a historic 19th-century building in NYC was just transformed into a cozy West -Coast-like home. Here are the highlights of our favorites.
The loft is full of natural light. So the earthy elements such as wood panelings were introduced to anchor this light-filled space. We love this mixed-media piece by Thea Djordjadze over the console. A stump stool is just adorable. The take-away design lesson here is to have the master artwork and unique furnishings in the entry to create that wow factor while using earthy elements to delivery an inviting and understated feel.
Nature is truly full of wonders. Last Thursday when we walked in our neighborhood park, surprisingly we found this bird in Classic Blue. Classic Blue is Pantone color of the year in 2020.
