We came across an article this morning about Elle Decor Cafe 2020 in Plaza Hotel New York and immediately fell in love with the unique decor that is modern, youthful, feminine and chic yet still keeping a old-world charm. Not surprisingly, the make-over design work is by renowned interior designer Sasha Bikoff whose design, in our opinion, is very UN-American—out-of-box, playful, chic and romantic in a very lady-like way. Since today is Friday, we want to talk about the design of this pretty cafe and hope to bring some weekend cheers to you.
The ELLE Decor Café at the Plaza is located at the famed Rose Club, which was once a popular venue for entertainers like Billie Holiday, Bob Hope, Liza Minnelli, and Kay Thompson. Along with showcasing her passion for energetic, global-inspired interiors, Bikoff reimagined the iconic space to reflect its rich jazz roots.
1. color Palette: “Since the Plaza is such a happy, colorful, monumental place, it was really important that I used a light color. We did have these more traditional jewel tones, but I wanted to brighten up the space with pink and lavender to balance all of the wood paneling. One really wonderful thing is that the ceiling lights can turn purple, so it worked out perfectly that I had a fabric that was red (a connection to the Rose Club) and lavender (a connection to the lights on the ceiling).”—Sasha Bikoff
a happy place to chill
We love the interplay between pink and rouge to create such a happy and romantic atmosphere.

Every year we will design Chinese New Year tabletop theme. For lunar New Year 2020, the year of the metal rat, we features the following elements:
Color Palette—embrace Pantone Color of the Year 2020—Classic Blue with touch of traditional Chinese red and pastel pink to create a modern, intimate, chic and festive decor vibe. The large area of white paint in this eat-in space balance off Classic Blue and light up the whole area. In this color palette, we have influences from Benjamin Moore Color of the Year 2020–First Light, DunEdwards Color of the Year 2020 –Mint Fresh and PPT color of the Year 2020—China Porcelain.
Our Color Palette for Lunar New Year 2020
Mix of modern and clean-line classical furniture to create a fresh, inviting, relaxing, comfy and feminine atmosphere where we are often drawn to for a holiday family get-together.
A banquette seating is trendy in any eat-in space, specially the corner area —it looks pretty neat, stylish and offer extra seats and storage for get-togethers. The plush cushions, upholstered fabric and throw pillows together elevate the every-day eat-in spaces and bring in elegance.
we know that a beautiful tabletop always makes any event so sweet, memorable and vibrant, not even mentioning prestigious academy events like Golden Globe. The design of the tabletop at 77th Golden Globe is chic, modern with a touch of signature Hollywood glamor—roses and Champaign.
The all-white dinner set choice, for sure, keeps all of the possible chaoes and fusses into the minimum while providing calming and clean backdrop for the beautifully arranged two-tone rose centerpieces, also, I believe, the smiles of the star guests.
Well, Beyonce’s gown really looks good with those bright orange and yellow roses.
Celebrity florist Mark’s Garden is behind the floral designs for this year’s show, and the California-based business flew in more than 10,000 blooms from Ecuador and Italy for the ceremony. The flowers, which have vibrant orange and yellow hues, add a pop of color to the dozens of tables inside the ballroom.
Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2009 , Moët & Chandon Impérial cocktails, Lindt chocolatés boxes and Icelandic Glacial naturally alkaline spring water on each table
So, learning lesson here to set up a beautiful tabletop in a crowded and busy moment is with a simple table setting. Plus, it is the beginning of the year, you probably want to refresh your table with a minimal effort. White is the easiest color to style – its classic, calm and never goes out of fashion. That’s why every stylish table needs a crisp white tableware collection that’s highly versatile.

Hi, guys, we blogged Pantone’s Classic Blue on Christmas Decor and it got a lot of views since it was posted yesterday. Today, we are going to talk about Classic Blue in fashion.
“Over the last few years, a number of different colors have reigned supreme. Millennial pink got the ball rolling (and boy did it roll), followed by Gen Z yellow, slime green, and Aperol orange. But now as Pantone released Color of the Year 2020, we guess we have a fresh stable color to try on. You may think Classic Blue is boring, but as we look certain color more and more, we find beauty and start fall in love with it. From our opinion, Classic Blue is royal and noble. just see how Kate Middleton wears this particular color and how Ralph s Lauren still remains an important player with its signature blue in the fashion and home industries.
Pantone chose Classic Blue for its dependability and stability, two qualities people crave when crossing the threshold into a new era. “Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit, offering refuge,” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said. “It fosters resilience.”
We like the tailored long coat in Classic Blue with the soft-looking light-blue hat and scarf acupuncted by black. The overall-looking transfers the spirit of confidence, courages and determination.
Elegant and relaxed.
