The weekend is all about get-away, for some of us probably is all about get-away in our backyard. So, today we are going to share 7 outdoor living space ideas we really fall in love with.
Lush, organic and relaxing backyard is the ultimate get-away at home.
The lush tree provides a perfect shade for any al fresco dining party. We love the organic vibe of the garden. It’s chill and relaxing.
Two years ago, Quintessence visited Lulu Power’s home in Los Angeles. The house is full of color, pattern, books, greenery and fresh flowers. And we totally fell in love with her outdoor bar—small, neat, layered with full of charm. If you haven’t heard about Lulu Power, here is a little info about her on her instagram: The Entertainologist. Cooker,Creator,Cocktail maker. Food Editor for House Beautiful. She is a well-known entertainer and we were very lucky to go to many events entertained by her before COVID-19. With approaching of 4th of July, we probably will have to stay at home again and spend quite some in our backyard for celebration. So we all need some inspiration to make sure we will have some fun time. We kicked off our great out series last Friday. If you haven’t read it, you can click here to learn more. Today is our series 2. And yes we will talk about Lulu’s outdoor bar by sharing Quintessence’s youtube video below. Before we share the video, here are several things we think that really make her outdoor bar so cool:
At the beginning of this year, we wrote an article about the trends in 2020 and modern farm house style is one of them. You can click here to read this article. Today, we will take you to a Newport Beach house with full of design features for a dreamy modern farm house.
Probably at this strange time, the best getaway for some of us is a beautifully landscaped home garden. I came across some stunning home gardens when I browsed internet today and would love to share 9 of them that we fall in love with.
We love to see how lemon trees, olive trees, agave, other greenery and flowers add texture and color in these gardens.

It is pretty hard for me to keep watching news all the time. So I start to spend sometime daily for meditation. The experience is amazing. It is time for us to double down wellness. “Meditation is a vital way to purify and quiet the mind, thus rejuvenating the body.” —Deepak Chopra
When we meditate in nature, we bring a receptive presence to the natural world. It comes alive—and so do we. We no longer look at nature as an inert or pretty object, but as a living and breathing world of mystery and sensitivity, a realm of wisdom and learning that is always whispering its teachings to us. At this strange time, it may be not practical to go to natural for any activity, but if you have a backyard or house plants, you can practice your daily meditation in your backyard or among your house plants.
Hope you are enjoying your weekends. For us, we continue our backyard cocktail party in a little different style than last weekend. You can click here and see how we chilled out last weekend.
We had a big table setup this weekend since the grass was a little bit wet and we didn’t do a picnic style like last weekend. We used a lot of backyard greenery cuts, garden roses and we set our table right by a blooming tree since that can be really romantic. So take a look below.

The concert was pretty awesome. The star-studded benefit featured at-home performances by the likes of Alicia Keys, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, Dave Grohl and more. Tim McGraw, Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong and Sam Smith also performed, while Demi Lovato, Lizzo and Lady Gaga made special appearances during the evening encouraging fans with messages of hope and positivity.
For us, we are also very excited to see a little bit how these celebrities live and what their living rooms look like. Read on to see our 9 takeaways on how these Celebrities’ live.
1. The navy blue sofas are the most popular ones in these celebrities home.
Alicia Keys’ mid-century navy blue tufted sectional is chic, comfy and stylish. An orange pillow just adds a perfect pop of color. The navy blue in the artwork over the sectional and her piano continue the blue theme. Then a wood oval mid century modern coffee-table breaks the navy blue theme and let the eye take a rest.
Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong’s super comfy and plush navy blue sofa in his home studio. We love the same color patterned pillows on his sofa.
