During the current quarantine period, we start to appreciate and cherish those small things that make us happy. This week is the earth week. Although we cannot travel or go to public parks to celebrate the earth week and spring, we can just look no further than our sweet home. Different from super contemporary entry, we create more traditional vibes for this powder room to give that warmth and inviting feel. A Festive Powder Room
A Minimalism Powder Room
This Friday’s throwback is the powder room we did several years ago. We did the client’s kitchen and came back to renovate their powder room the very next year. The client loves mid-century minimalism style with a soft feminine touch. Here is what we did for the client:
- Use large-format tile on the floor and central wall to make the small space look bigger.
- Paint the side walls in a light-gray stripe pattern to make the space feel classic yet playful.
- The black lacquered vanity floating on the floor is the truly focal point of this powder room.
- The beautiful streamline modern European style faucet is a good match to the straight-line pulls on the vanity.
- The classic painting with a gilded frame adds a magical soft feminine feeling to the space.

A Powder Room Transformation
The powder room is really not that big at all: 72″ x 72″. The renovation idea is to make it as stylish as possible in such a small space. Design features include:
1. Neutral yet high gloss large-format tiles on the floor and wall open the space.
2. The color scheme of crisp white, gray and cream with a touch of gold and blush creates low-tone luxury atmosphere.
3. Large floral mosaic on the side wall and the same pattern insert on the focal wall are truly the drama in an elegant way.
4. Artwork with the gold frame makes the room interesting.
5. Having a little blush vanity chair in the corner is very inviting.
The fantasy comes true.
