Today is the second day of Nov. The weather is warm and beautiful. What can be better than just chilling out in the garden and bathing in the warm and soft fall sunshine in the late afternoon like this?
Well, don’t you just love all of these rich jewel-tone colors. Fresh flowers always put a big smile on my face.
Just chilling out here.
Emerald green looks great in the warm and soft fall sunlight. Fall is not just about earthy tones, orange …. In fall, I still love my pink roses. Pink, deep dark brown, navy blue, black and white and of course emerald green—-they are such a chic, fresh yet warm color palette for this fall.
Here is the recent powder room we did for the Orange County Hill house. Different from super contemporary entry, we create more traditional vibes for this powder room to give that warmth and inviting feel. The crisp contrast between blue and white and touch of brass on the hardwares make the space so elegant, light and airy with a right dose of glamour.
We blogged that Benjamin Moore’s color of the year 2020–First Light, if you haven’t read our blog, please click here to read And we think the color is pretty neutral yet moody and can be an elegant backdrop for any interiors. In Orange County Hill Project, we painted Client’s guest bedroom in kind of similar pink color—neutral yet elegant and sophiticated:

The light warm pink create such a dreamy atmosphere. The tufted bed headboard adds depth and interest to the space while the 2 of brass pendants anchor the bedroom and champaign nightstands lend a touch of sophistication. Artwork for sure is the soul of the room. This is a soothe and delicate place place where guests can relax well.
One of the high-lights from PDC Fall Market 2019 is Timothy Corrigan’s new fabric collection with Schumacher. I was able to take some photos from the launching party.

Re-imagine traditional pattern with a modern flair
I am totally obsessed with this new Timothy’s collection with Schumacher–they are modern, classical yet playful and will add a touch of haute cotour to any space. I cannot wait to use them for our next projects.
One of things we are excited about Designer Fall Markets is to see the launchings of new fabrics. And just like fashion, the new patterns and colors of fabric always bring us joy and happiness. Often, these new patterns and colors of fabric will transform your home like a magical. And without any doubt, using of upholstered pieces in your home will make it more warm, inviting and comfy with a touch of elegance and personality.
Visiting one of my favorite showrooms during the Fall Market. Love this bright orange channeled mid-century comfy sofa and cannot wait to pick up my new fabric samples.
Here is the over-view of the showroom.

Aren’t you fall in love with these fresh colors and patterns? Want to see what I got?
Yes, I played these fabric samples I picked up on my dining table this morning. OMG, aren’t they beautiful?
As I said that fabric can transform your space in a second. Unfortunately, people are often afraid to use patterns and colors. So I will share 3 tips on how to choose fabric in your home:

When there are more than 3 patterns, play the proportions and make them into different scales. that way, your eye will not feel the busyness.
We were recently invited to a private party to take a home tour at one of Paul McClean’s latest contemporary projects at Laguna Beach. It was a beautiful sunny day in the valley and by the beach, there was a little bit marine layers, wrapping the whole beach town in a romantic sheer. And you can see in the following video, the neighborhood is kind of lay-back cottage beach house style which really makes Paul McClean designed home stand out. Ireland-born architect Paul McClean has become somewhat synonymous with the high-end housing boom in Los Angeles. He designed homes for celebrities and high-net-worth buyers that include Calvin Klein, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and the Winklevoss twins — famous for suing Mark Zuckerberg. He likes to play light, air and water for his projects to create very Zen-like atmosphere.
Here are some high-lights that we really like in this contemporary house at Laguna Beach.

Its looks like that we have been busy for photo shooting recent. Some are for the newly finished projects and some are for seasonal theme-decor ideas. Today, we were shooting for our fall catalogues. Please have a sneak peek.
The whole design inspiration is really from this cute pendant. We love the color palette and texture of this pom pom mini-chanderlier. And of course we know that fall is coming although we are still embracing 90 degree hot weather here in Los Angeles. So far, our mood is adding some saturated jewel tone while still keeping the overall color palette cool with highlights of different shades of blue and crisp white. Here are some product links you may find them help for your projects:
