Our Backyard Cocktail Party

Hope you are enjoying your weekends. For us, we continue  our backyard cocktail party in a little different style than last weekend. You can click here and see how we chilled out last weekend.

We had a big table setup this weekend since the grass was a little bit wet and we didn’t do a picnic style like last weekend. We used a lot of backyard greenery cuts, garden roses and we set our table right by a blooming  tree since that can be really romantic. So take a look below.

Global Home Tour III–a Sophisticated London Home

Today, we are going to tour  the super stylish Creative Director of VistaJet – the world’s premiere private aviation service – Nina Flohr’s London home.  You can clickhere and here to read the first two episodes of our global home tours.

We love  her jewel-tone warm color palettes, the mix of elegant textile patterns , sumptuous furnishing material finishes and a cozy and laid-back vibe.  Let’s take a look together.

The subtle gold wall-covering elevates and lights up a narrow hallway . A fresh orange flower arrangement adds a dose of excitement. We love the view in the hallway that is able to see a very elegant drapery on the landing area of the stairs , which hints a sophisticated taste for the rest of the home.

The almost monogram of color of green creates such an elegant, soothing and luxurious feel while the mustard lounge chair, bright yellow flowers and pink on the artwork truly spice up this lovely living room.  A neutral nature are rug ground the whole space and let the eye take a break from all of the greens here.  The mood here is quiet yet cheerful—a kind of feeling we are all desperate to create for our home.

Escape to Nature

We are practicing social distancing over the weekends: no gallery visits, no going to bars & restaurants as we usually do at this special moment of  coronavirus outbreak not only for us but for other people who are senior and have weaker immune system as well. This morning Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that much more needs to be done to slow the spread of the novel corona virus and help the economy cope, urging Americans to significantly curb their social activity and practice social distancing. Even though you are young and healthy, you may carry the virus without any symptom and pass them to other people who are senior and weaker.

So we spend more time hiking and it is fascinating.

It is excited to see the blossoms and colors since Spring is here.  As they said, “In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.”

Also they said, “Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.”

My Dining-room Makeover

Hi, guys, Happy Saturday!  As usual, I love to work in my garden a little bit earlier in the morning just to refresh my mind and feel good.  My backyard garden looks  so green and lush now.

LA Street Style I

Spring is here. The warmer weather and blooms magically  put everyone  in a very cheerful mood.  So, we took the opportunity and wander around LA street to immerse ourselves in the season and get inspired.

STREET3
I always have a thing about bicycles. I love purple and flowers in this picture! It’s a dream if I can just ride a bicycle with full blooms in a small quiet beach town.  If you happen to plan some make-over for your home, lilac is one of the good choices. I specially like lilac in matte finish.  And also, remember have some fresh flowers at home!   They will make you feel much happier!
STREET1
It’s a late afternoon. I like how the sun shines on the industrial building creating interesting shadows. This hot pink minimalism bench is such a eye candy in  contrast with the grayish industrial surroundings. Spring finally broke through the coldness and is here with a little bit surprise and cheer. Take -away— for your interiors, don’t just pile things up,  rather intentionly  layer different things through creating interesting contrast!
STREET2
Graffiti on LA street is always my inspiration.  Take-away for interiors: please always have some artworks for your home. They are the soul for each space. They make your lifestyle much deeper.
STREET5.jpg
Wood just brings the warmth for this high-ceiling modern space with a lot of whites.

A Quick Look Inside The Multimillion-Dollar Homes Of Tom Brady

Today will be Tom Brady’s 8th times to appear in the Super Bowel.  Tom Brady(5-times Super Bowl Champion winner) may be considered king of the football field, but he’s also a big player in the real-estate realm.  Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bündchen—the world’s second-highest paid celebrity couple—have owned property on both coasts of the country, from a solar-paneled mansion with a moat in Los Angeles to a sprawling spread near Boston.

Let’s have a quick a look at these multimillion-dollar homes to get a sense of their style.

Los Angeles—simplicity, coziness and eco-conciousness.

Tom-1

Brady and Bündchen sold their brentwood mansion to Dr. Dre in 2014 for $40 million, almost quadruple the $11.75 million they bought it for

Brookline, Massachusetts

In 2014, after selling their 18,298-square-foot Brentwood estate to Dr. Dre for $40 million, the couple returned to the East Coast to custom-design a new compound for $4.5 million. Their Brookline home—albeit about 4,000 square feet smaller than their Los Angeles abode—is no downgrade, however.

Gisele Bundchen shared images of their Chestnut Hill home via Vogue Italia, which will feature Bundchen on its February cover, set to release on Feb. 6. We are really looking forward to them soon.  But here are some home photos from Gisele Bundchen Instagram account:

We can see it is a perfect place to unwind and has  abundant natural light and neutral decor which add texture and richness to the rooms.

New York, New York

In August 2016, Brady and Bündchen became the first celebrities to score part of 70 Vestry, a new luxury condo in New York’s Tribeca slated for completion in 2018. The couple will reportedly sell their current Manhattan residence, a $14 million penthouse at One Madison in Flatiron, once they move into their new apartment.

6 Ways to Bring a Little Lagom to your Interiors

Hygge might have been the décor buzz word in the last couple of years.   But this year,  Lagom, a Swedish concept is set to change the way we decorate our homes and look after our health and well-being.

Unlike hygge—the Danish idea of “coziness” that promotes warmth and comfort—lagom is a life style.  It means   “just the right amount,” focusing  on moderation and creating the perfect balance between not too much and not too little across everything from work/life balance to financial well-being.

Coming across a lot of recent designs and Instagram,  I feel that lagom interiors may be on the way to become one of the  design trends to watch in 2018!  Here are 6 ways to adopt a little lagom into your interior today:

  1. Efficient flow: Creating balance in a space is much more than just the aesthetics of the room, is also incorporates the way that the room flows and how it supports the way that you use it.  Will the scale of the furniture fits the space or overwhelm the space?    Can you comfortably move around the room without having to squeeze past furnishings? Meeting needs such as these, without overcomplicating the design is an important component of lagom interiors – take a practical approach to the design process for a space that offers everything you need. LAGMON-2061369-1485546693.640x0c
  2. Calm color palettes: The color of your home can have a profound impact on your mood and well-being.   We all find that calm, soothing natural colors such as white gray, muted pastels and light earthy tones can absolutly relax us and provide a simple and fuss-free foundation for a beautifully balanced room.
  3. Practicality  and functionality: There is a purpose for each room and decor accessories in terms of functionality and the way it triggers your emotion.
  4. Natural materials and craftsmanship: : Lagom promotes to make things less complicated and allow the natural beauty of materials and artisan craftsmanship to shine such as celebrating the grace of woven natural materials, the warmth of raw oak and the purity of soft cotton. IMG_2894.jpglagomscandinavian-traditional-kitchen-sweden-sweden-by-sigmar-2Lagom-Decor-2
  5. Layer effect: Tone-on-tone theme with various textures and materials to creat a warm yet sophisticated space.  lagomeclectic-bathroom-stockholm-sweden-by-studioilse-1Lagom-Decor-17
  6. Mix something new and something old to build up characters and personality: The antique, vintage pieces always add history, depth, story and charisma to the space, making it fun to live with and often spark a good conversation.  NPLivingroomholidayguestroom-1kitchen24.jpgIMG_3827.jpgblackinteriors.jpgLagom-Decor-18
